FridgeFreezer
Since I have a bit of a steaming up issue in my cab, and effectively heating a barn like a 109 is quite a task, I was wondering if you can get heated windscreens for Series vehicles? I'm sure they used to exist but I can't find any mention of them on google. Before anyone says it, no I'm not putting a Defender screen & roof on just to get a heated screen. sheeppimp
knew it would happen, you start driving round in a hairdressermobile and start wanting all this poncy stuff in a perfectly good concours 109 your going soft I tell thee
FridgeFreezer
It's only 'cos there's an airbox where the heater should be, I'm not going soft yet!

Jon White
Before anyone says it, no I'm not putting a Defender screen & roof on just to get a heated screen. Why not???? whats wrong with a defender screen??? I an also recommend the use of a defender heater - more or less a bolt on swap for the pants standard series one! tiagoc
Cheers David, I called them but they're not answering so will try again later and report back with a price. I'll keep an eye on this thread to see the price they give you. This (along with the Def heater) is a good addition to the Series
T1G UP
What about one of those 6 kw ceramic heaters for the cab.
FridgeFreezer
6kW? Is that using engine coolant, fuel burner, or does it plug into the cigarette lighter socket to draw the 400+ amps required to kick out 6kW of heat from electricity alone? Tonk
i remeber seeing heated screens for series somewhere (cant find website at mo) but i'm sure they were about 130 quid the pair
FridgeFreezer
Bang on, just phoned them, stock is coming in next week and they're about £130 for a pair. Pricey but quite tempting since the screen needs replacing anyway. For those who don't click links, Uroglas are on 01527 577477.

jericho
I've got Uroglass heated screens in my series.Cost about £95 inc vat and delivery when I bought them about 5 years ago. Excellent upgrade, well worth it, if you drive it regularly.
tacr2man
I found that putting a second heater unit in rear wheelbox(made from cut down minivan heater) and completely blanking off the radiator my old 109 diesel used to get real toasty, warm enough for the girlfriend , nudge nudge wink wink.
