need4speed
Am i correct in thinking that there is an ABS (plastic) version of ASR2250 (wheel arch) available? If so, does anyone know where to get them? Phil

need4speed
Hi Roy. Bare in mind that im reffering to the actual inner wheel arch. Not the little extensions that clip onto the outside of the wings. Check the part number Phil
Maverik
I'm sure I read a topic recently about this...(I'll have a look) are they not fitted to all new TDCI's? rather than the metal ones... I'm not sure they are covers, but actually the inner panel... I found this CLF000280 according to lrseries, its a liner for a defender... need4speed
Cheers Chris. Yes its the inner panel im meaning. Its actually instead of the usual metal one. Im thinking it could be quite a good idea for me to consider, given the stage im at in my build. Never need to worry about rust, thats for sure.. If they are indeed fitted to the new tdci's, would there be anything different about them meaning they couldnt be retro-fitted to older defenders? Retroanaconda
Aren't the metal ones galvanised? I've never seen a rusty one!

need4speed
Aren't the metal ones galvanised? I've never seen a rusty one! Cant all be galvanised as mine were like swiss cheese. Well, one side was especially...
western
my 1989 110's has galvanised inner front arches, might be worth looking for a pair from that year.
need4speed
Thats weird. My original 110 donor was 1991 vintage, and there aint a cat-in-hells chance mine were galvanised. Strange one. No matter - if i cant find the new plastic type or if they dont fit, i'll look for galvanised ones.. Phil
Retroanaconda
My 90's are galvanised, and that's a 1992. The 110 has them as well (1993). I thought they were all galved

I thought they were all galved My new ones(to me)are Galved but the old ones were rusted through I guess its the constant pebble dashing and road salt that blasts through the galv coating. need4speed
...... the old ones were rusted through I guess its the constant pebble dashing and road salt that blasts through the galv coating. That could very well explain it. Thats why i figured the new plastic ones would be a prudent move seeing as i have everything stripped at the front already. No amount of pebble-dashing will rust the ABS through.... Phil
nickwilliams
http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopic=59192 I've not actually got 'em yet, mind, but I've had a look under the bonnet of my next-door-neighbour;'s 10 plate 90 and so far as I can see the fixings are identical to the ones on my 1990 vehicle. need4speed
I remember now...... I got in touch with chadler as he said he had some - no reply.. Thats interesting that you've now had a look at the new defender and see no difference in the fixings. Thanks Nick Phil
101sean
My 00 Td5 has galvanised inner arches.
nickwilliams
I got in touch with chadler as he said he had some - no reply.. He sold them to me, and I know he was moving house so he may have missed your message. I've not seen them yet (except as a photo) - they have been collected by a friend of mine close to him and I'll be getting them in a month or so. I'll report here on fitting them when I've done it. Jimmy Two-Jacks
Damn - gazumpped again... I suppose it would be possible to mold some from grp based on the old ones given time, money, inclination, fine weather, no family or work commitments etc etc etc. Hmmm perhaps better off buying some
