Les Henson
Second time I've come across this at this time of the year. Safari snorkel must be an attractive potential nest site for blue tits. Two dead inside the air filter housing on a 300TDi CSW. Does anyone know if there's a finer mesh covering available for these snorkels? Les. Jon W
Had this on my discovery before the snorkel was even fitted I don't know how they ended up in there, they were slightly squashed to say the least. Jon
disco_al
funny you should mention this, as i just changed my air filter this weeken and found a dead one in the air box. as for a finer mesh, i don't think there is one ready made, although some of the diamond pattern stuff they sell in halfrauds for the saxo brigade could be fashioned to fit just behind the standard grille i suspect. will have a play this weekend
Bowie69
2 deads ones in the air box over the years... now my snorkel has a grille on it to stop this sort of thing happening....
Happyoldgit
I've got a roll of perforated zinc here Les you are welcome to some of that but suspect it might restrict the airflow.
karlo
I think Devon 4x4 do a prefilter that fits behind the mesh on the safari head. *EDIT* http://www.devon4x4.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=1474&category_id=256&keyword=pre-filter&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=
