Landy-Novice
i think zeus stopped it for the 101? few places that sell disk brake conversion for series, could they not fit with a mod or two? http://www.zeus.uk.com/land-rover.php http://www.heystee-a...csbrks/disc.htm http://www.rockymoun....uk/?page_id=41 http://www.roamoffroad.com/
western
Series parts won't fit 101 has 6 stud wheels/hubs instead of 5.

SOA 93
I did reply to this post this morning, obviously didn't load up, although I did wait for the green blocks to finish. Anyway, Zeus still do make the 101 conversion it's about £900 for each end, they are only made to order and they wait for about 10 orders before doing a run. You get custom bells, custom disc's, Caliper mounts, custom nodular cast iron 4 piston calipers with Stainless pistons, longer wheel studs, brake pipes, pads and fittings etc. Caliper piston size is the same as the old Jag XJ (IIRC) , whether that's the same as 110 calipers i don't know, discs are a bit bigger than LR's and alot thicker although not vented. As said above I don't think normal LR stuff will fit, the 101 axles are much heavier duty than defender salisbury's, bigger shafts, CV's, Hubs and bearings and of course they are six stud. If you manage to make something fit then please post up, I'd be very interested.
101sean
I'd fit Salisbury axles off a Snatch 110 with discs already on and sell the 101 axles, they are worth around £500-750 each if in good nick. No one has come up with an alternative to the Zeus set up afaik Not much help to a challenge truck but there's nothing wrong with 101 brakes in normal use provided they are properly adjusted. There's a pic of an Aussie 101 Rapier tractor with it's back wheels off the ground on a braking test, that was when you could get proper asbestos shoes though!
