where can I get beadlockers?

If you want fancy styled ones there is nothing to stop you getting you own discs laser cut to your own design. There's nothing magical about the design essentials. I expect a one off set may end up costing you more though.

I would say the hardest part is welding them to your rims. Getting the welds air tight and the disc nice and true requires a lot of patience and care.

those west midlands jobbies are nasty flat plate ones, which i wouldn't use myself. The ones from matt lee are spun and have a rolled edge, and they bottom out, meaning you can do up the bolts properly, without worries of them coming loose. I dont know if the devon ones are from matt lee (I cant see it on the picture and it does not give any info). Matt lee doesn't show it on his website, but I would be looking for the spun versions of beadlock rings.

I have the Gwyn Lewis ones, 2 8mm(I think) round steel plates, one welded to the outer rim and the other bolted to it with the tyre inbetween. Cannot recommend these enough. The only thing I would change about them and I may do in the future is stainless bolts and powder coating the outer ring.

Got them from Gwyn Lewis.

As you can see, as opposed to most beadlocks you've ever seen these don't slot into the rim, they sit on top.

I asked Gwyn about it and he said it allows the bolts to be further out and will ake it a lot easier to center the tyre on the rim.

Gwyn generally know's his **** so I'll take his word for it :)

hmm, but these are still the flat plate ones, where the plate cone like buggery once bolted up, isn't it?

I was hoping to see a set of flat rings to weld on, and a set of profiled rings to bolt on, like this:

I've not done them on my Disco but on the rally car the quick tip was to buy a packet of say size 10 hardened concrete nails, cut them down to arround 1/2" long. Then drill the inner skin of the alloy bead to a depth of around 1/4" and tap the nail into the hole (make sure its a very tight fit aided with some shaft seal locktite) and with about five per side - 10 per rim - you have your bead lockers. Once the tyre is inflated it will fix itself to teh rim, works wonders but will mean that the tyre does have a limited life, after its been on and off a few times its ruined.

Daan,

I've got single beadlocks like what you're on about. The outer edge of the rim has been cut off, then flanges welded onto both halves of the rim.

I still prefer my double beadlock, which are split in the middle and then reassembled with a piece of plastic pipe in the middle to lock both beads at once.
