  1. Where was it? i once left mine at the fuel station - I filled it up, went home and then noticed the following morning. I remembered having put it on the top of the pump. I went back feeling very foolish - but when I asked inside if anyone had found it the very disinterested chap behind the counter sighed, reached down and pulled out a huge cardboard box - full to the top with petrol caps. My idiocy was contextualised 😊 and after a few minutes trying the key in a number of them, I had mine back.
  2. I haven’t quite got that far - but I’ll message you with the details.
  3. That’s really helpful - thank you ! I’ll have a read on their site. 😊
  4. I’m not sure I’d jet wash it ! I’ve cleaned mine with diesel and a paintbrush - using a steel and brass wire brush and even scrapers in some places. Basically just putting a lot of time into it.
  5. I’ve an LT230 and R380 off my Td5 90 that I’m planning on putting on eBay - I was planning to just put them on for local pickup ... but I noticed that Parcels2Go now do pallet courier services, so I’m thinking of giving it a go - however Im w pallet newbie .. so please can I indulge some basic questions: Are pallets a standard size? How would you secure something like the gearbox to one? They seem to give them away on the industrial estate round the corner - so I think I should have no problem getting hold of one. Any advice welcomed!
  6. Glorious - well done that man. Ive been spending too much money on mine and need to stop for a month ☹️ These things are so expensive !
  7. I get that - I think I just lack the emotional connection to them 🤷🏻‍♂️
  8. This is the link @Gazzar referenced.. http://www.glencoyne.co.uk/200di.htm 200 is an easier and well trodden conversion - if you do it on the original mounts, you can have it so you could put it back to standard when Series 3’s start being worth silly money too.
  9. Not wishing to be negative - but wanting to share how I felt - it left me rather cold... 😳
  10. I’m pondering what washer jets to fit to my 80” - there are some classic looking set ups, but I’m primarily thinking I’d like something that works well..... and somehow I’ve never understood why modern car systems are so much better that my 90’s - presumably better pumps? Has anyone got any suggestions ? here is one of the vintage ones : https://www.holden.co.uk/displayproduct.asp?sg=2&pgCode=040&sgName=Hardware&pgName=Washers+%26+Wipers&agCode=0700&agName=Washer+Bottles&pCode=2SJ/R
  11. Great news ! I put my galv bumper outside - so it would weather and lose some of its brightness 😊 kind of pre applied aging.
  12. 3” is wider than stock - it’s a performance exhaust. I think the 200TDI is 2.5” for the whole system, sometimes quoted as 60mm. I believe the 2.5TD is 55mm - so perhaps 2”.
  13. I can’t imagine there are many gauges you are missing Ralph 😀😂
  14. George - what frame rate do you use on your stop motion? I’m about to rebuild a small motorcycle engine and am tempted to give it a go...
  15. I’m not sure about the Bearmach kit, but we’ve posted about Britpart being a surprising choice for swivel kits just recently. Their kits that have a G after the part number come with timken bearings and corteco seals.
  16. Have I missed a post about the gearbox? Why the rebuild?
  17. And .... more importantly..... back to the 2a 😊
  18. Either way - good quality and for £147 inc post.
  19. Just to update this - I’ve also just ordered a swivel kit with the Britpart part number with a G on the end - and as above it comes with Timken Bearings and Corteco seals - and I suspect the swivel is the same one everyone sells. I’m quite taken aback - it’s a blue box with quality parts and it even has rather professional packaging.
  20. @Hybrid_From_Hell recommended Luk some years back - as being the best quality. To put another name into the mix.
  21. The power wall isn’t that bad a price? And you’d expect it soon to be offset against saved cost of petrol or diesel. For where it comes from - lots of scientists cite figures along the lines of that enough solar energy hits the earth in a day than we use in a year from fossil fuels
