  1. Can anyone post the offset figures for the Boost wheel please ?
  2. Can you not use the plastic clips ? Or alternatively - on my last 90 I pulled mine out to fix a dodgy header and put it back, but left the clips out in case I hadn't fixed the problem - and I ended up leaving it like that for a couple of years. It never moved or creaked or rattled ... With the other trim pieces holding it in place.
  3. Ooo - didn't know you had an 86"
  4. So - can you use this to 'scan' a gasket and it will produce a CAD drawing that you can take to a laser cutter ?Gosh you could make all sorts of things !
  5. Hey that's helpful guys - thank you ! I wasn't sure about the quality of new springs - so encouraging to hear yours are ok Soren. Good feedback on the resetting too - how is that specified I wonder. Would I provide a distance between the eyes and they set it to that I wonder ? Thank you Mr Stuck - I'll have a look at them
  6. I don't have any pics of the loom - it was just a case of straightening the run out and getting it as compact and as neat as possible..... And trial fitting the dash panel over and over again ! I'll take some pictures at the weekend - it's dark when I'm home from work at the moment. Feel free to remind me if I forget.
  7. The recent topics around series ride quality and available springs, has brought to mind the narrow springs on my 80" I don't want to lose originality and change them for wide ones - so my options are pretty much just having some made or having these re-set. Can anyone recommend either route ? and / or a company to do it ?
  8. The brace is a factory fit - I can take some photos of its mounts if it would be useful ?
  9. It does look an M6 size head. If it had been obvious I'd have picked the bolts up on my way home from work today. I'll have a proper look I n the daylight - and see if I can work out the inside to outside placement. I was hesitant to just wind then out given I seem to be in a spate of shearing fasteners off.
  10. Nothing very handy on my phone .... I've tried to put two little whiten dots on this picture to show where they are ... But it hasn't worked .... They are in line with the run of rivets along side the wheel boxes and are up near where the bulkhead would be ... Little brown blobs on this picture I can take some more tomorrow
  11. I don't know ? They maybe thought they look like a standard hex head bolt? I've googled huck bolts but can't find any pictures of them as they appear in the floor.
  12. I feel I need to apologise for my ignorance again... Cleaning out the back of 90 CSW today, having removed carpets and side facing seats etc - getting ready to fit a forward facing rear seat ... What are the bolts in the corner of the tub floor ? I could do with replacing them as they looks pretty corroded. So I wondered if anyone could tell me what they locate too and perhaps what size they are ?
  13. I seem to keep reading of people fitting RX8 seats ..... I had an RX8 for a while and the seats were very comfy - I'm just not sure they won't look a little out of place in a Defender ?
  14. Is there a chemical that arrests alloy corrosion in the same way that the tanic acid / rust killer products do with steel corrosion ? Or does galvanic corrosion only occur when the dissimilar metals are in contact?
  15. I left mine running with the heater on full blast once and got back just in time ... The thing had expanded out like a balloon ........ On the plus side - the outrush of air when I got the door open dried my hair.
  16. I picked up a 2nd hand Mantec for £80 I think - I decided to pay for it to be powder coated and buy fasteners on top, but it still worked out as a good saving over new.
  17. Are the rubber ones much better than the foam ones ?
  18. Only just seen your previous post - glad the cardboard tip helped As for the loom - I don't have your model but my early Td5 loom came in by the heater and then ran along in the plastic channel - branching down to the fuse panel and on to the dashboard. It was also a fiddle to get it to lie flat. It was doable though ... If yours has been fiddled with it may take some re-shaping and re-taping to get it to sit in the channel properly.
  19. Ouch! How come yours didn't have the bracket to the chassis then James ?
  20. Wow - that's a lot ! I'm a supporter but only ever browse on the mobile version, which doesn't show the upload feature.
  21. I think the OP posted more in the thread over on the other forum - and he's made his decision.....
  22. My understanding of the the tru-trac was that it can still loose drive when one wheel is in the air ? My immediate thoughts on the centre diff is that if you've driven all that way with no issues ... Then you must have no issues in the way you use it
