  1. Go on !! 😁 tell us about it ?
  2. I was thinking that - is it a new rod with threads cut at both ends - or one of those coupling nuts .
  3. Well done ! and a cobra in a rather nice colour on the way in the garage too !?
  4. They aren’t cheap - but quality is top notch and they are low volume providers. They are series nuts too.
  5. Our Fridge is right : https://www.charlesworthmouldings.co.uk/shop/Control-Knob-roamerdrive-Over-Drive-3-8-UNC?fbclid=IwAR0nNDAt_3fJ7acgZfJ-ua3uWfy1CAcmj0ABqgEm1i5kpd47BLnIHT5LNrM
  6. Yep … I’d say prep too. Even if you just keyed it with scotchbrite and then cleaned it down meticulously with something.
  7. You’d only be able to see what things were drawing if you had it in individual circuits though - and that’s a multimeter job. Though I know Ralph likes his gauges - if he had an ammeter for every circuit that would really take him to the next level 🤔😂 Mock up of 110 centre console 😂
  8. Yes - though I had other folk do the ally welding. I’m about to make a tiny step forward on one (the NS) - and send the mag wheels off to be checked and refinished. I’ll be too scared to ride when it’s done - but hey 😂 who cares !
  9. Stack are good kit. I had them on motorcycles- and they were top drawer imo.
  10. The back is done and glorious - What’s left on the front axle then ? is it just to fully weld these brackets, then paint and build it all up ? Seems like it is close to making its first appearance under the LWT to me ? 😁
  11. Yes - loads in there that’s not standard. Picture of a standard one in this thread:
  12. People don’t tend to fit ammeters anymore - personally I’m not fussed about seeing if it’s keeping up with the current draw - I consider what the total potential draw of everything is and spec an alternator to match that. Perhaps it was more relevant with dynamo’s that gave a less consistent output? I find a voltmeter useful though - tells me the battery condition when the engine isn’t running and if the alternator is working when it is running.
  13. Just think we traded all that 70’s dashboard wonder for an airbag …
  14. Rest easy though. No one would ever count you in that though Mo 😉
  15. No pleasing some people. How about the dash on this 1971 Maserati concept car then ?
  16. Millions of those little warning lights on eBay : https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/8-10-14-16mm-12V-24V-Symbol-LED-Dash-Panel-Warning-Indicator-Pilot-Light-Lamp-UK-/383317183112?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m2548.l6249&mkrid=710-127635-2958-0
  17. I found this picture on the net - no further info, but using the smaller warning lights has made a surprising amount of space I thought for additional gauges. I think it looks quite smart.
  18. would 1.00 gears work ? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LAND-ROVER-LT230-INTERMEDIATE-CLUSTER-GEAR-1-003-1-FRC9512-/263397029309?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m2548.l6249&mkrid=710-127635-2958-0
  19. Made from solid with hand files and a Victorian English wheel.
  20. How much would this have been new ? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2021-Land-Rover-Defender-110-X-DYNAMIC-HSE-7-SEATS-Auto-Estate-Diesel-Automatic-/194414862934?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=710-127635-2958-0 £95k for a 2nd hand one seems pretty incredible.
  21. I quite like them - they must certainly be a lot more secure than the standard sliding windows. The only bit of the fit I’ve never been sure about is where they are cut around the rear door hinges.
  22. Gosh I missed this thread - please keep sharing, this is going to be fantastic ! Some great suggestions from folk here too - though if you already had planning in, I’m assuming it was too late for you to want to do them.
  23. I can’t wait to see these complete and in paint !
