  1. On Suppliers - I used to use Britcar, but they’ve sadly ceased trading. I’ve used LRDirect a little in the past - and They seem to be emerging as a popular choice. That said I’ve also been buying direct from Bearmach and that’s been decent service. It seems that even if the parts may be coming from the same factory as the BritPart ones … in general they have a better QC. Despite all of the above though I think the whole thing has become a minefield. I know someone who bought genuine cappings for a 90 from Land Rover, they were a fortune and the quality was shocking - they were twisted from welding in manufacture and a really poor fit. On the flip side I bought a swivel kit from Brit Part that came with Timken Bearings and Corteco seals and was just brilliant. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Anyhow - back to your marvellous welding 🤩
  2. I just took it that the whole ethos of the build seems to be to outlive the cockroaches
  3. Joe ….. there are people on the Internet who will feel you are now moments away from a visit from a SWAT team enforcing s.41 of the Road Traffic Act 1988 and the Road Vehicles Lighting Regulations 1989.
  4. I think, rather strangely, two isn’t twice as much work. If they are both working it also takes the pressure off always having one roadworthy, which also means you have more chance of doing things when you feel up for it, rather than having no choice but to do it. Overall … I recommend it 😂

  6. It’s all looking lovely - the seats frames are fantastic. I really like the design engineering stuff - just SO expensive … I understand why, but the understanding doesn’t deepen my wallet 😂 Craddocks seem to be building a reputation for accepting orders and payments on things they don’t yet have in stock, and being poor at communicating, so you might need to be patient with that part of your order.
  7. On the 80”…. Finish bleeding the brakes (for god’s sake) Figure out why my new battery has just died Fit my new steering box Revisit the lower radiator pipework Lanoguard the underside Then use it to death ! On the 90”….. Find the annoying horrible noise - and quickly Put a new passenger door on it - the old one almost straightened - but not really. Finish the NAS step Quieten the exhaust Have my first go at rebuilding a diff.
  8. 😢 What you need are a ton of Kinder Bruno’s! I’ll be thinking of you.
  9. I’m a member - it’s definitely on the up. Interested in what your different moral stance is now if you’d share it ?
  10. I flatten the tyres to get mine in the garage - I just take the valve centre out and put it back when it’s virtually zero.
  11. Santa’s been ! And after more upheaval over the last couple of years than I think we’ve all ever seen, I hope we all have a fantastic Christmas and I hope ‘22 is a great year. Happy Christmas Landy Friends !
  12. HEY !!!!! I resemble that comment !
  13. I’m happy for it to have gone the way it did - the JLR but I shared had several strands of directions it could have gone in - and all seems a natural progression 😊
  14. I have one of these : https://www.screwfix.com/p/milwaukee-m18-il-0-18v-li-ion-redlithium-cordless-led-inspection-light-bare/729hp Its fantastic.
  15. There are a couple of folk making stainless tanks for the 80” - are they out there for the later series ?
  16. That’s helpful thank you. Its on my list to get one. Though I’ll need to read up again to make sure I get one I can use.
  17. Great to see this pop up - and it’s looking fabulous. I love the way you are upgrading but keeping the look and feel of things right. Im still thinking that having that readymade body means you are going to reach a point where you suddenly make a massive leap in progress 😀
  18. Have you managed to open it ? Is there damage on the underside ?
  19. Horrible - and terrifying on the bike. I had a horrible accident like this but with a cyclist. I came to a blind right hand corner onto a very steep narrow up hill road, I was slowing down from about 15 to 10 miles an hour, getting as far to the left as I could preparing to turn in - thinking if anyone is on the other side I want to be able to stop…. When a cyclist came round the corner, but on my side of the road, carrying tons of speed and went straight into the front of me. Very similar to your picture. I was going super slow, slammed on the brakes, put my passenger side into the hedge - he just screamed and didn’t steer or touch his brakes at all. He must of at least been doing 30mph off that hill - even if I’d got it down to 5mph - a 35mph head on collision on drop handlebars wearing shorts and a T shirt is a horrible result. Awful - turns the pit of my stomach when I remember it.
