  1. Cheers Dave, hadn’t looked yet in the shed spraying bits, sheds too big to heat so have to wait for best days to do it.👍
  2. That’s why it didn’t come up cheers again Dave 👍.
  3. Cheers gruntus, yep read most of them I think , @sharpy and @daveturnbull asked the same question as me about alternative blowers from other vehicles and they got no reply’s on that line and I couldn’t find any other threads , loads on problem solving which my system isn’t built yet and I might need later, was looking for a cheaper alternative to a £150 LR copy one that is a bit asmatic anyway.
  4. Hi all , I’ve done a search but found no answer . On my project 90 I need a new blower motor and there £150 to buy new, ouch, so was wondering as anyone upgraded there’s to something better and cheaper ? I’ve got a 330cfm bilge blower off eBay but was thinking if there was something that fitted into the original housing. cheers Ian
  5. I’m going down the M57 route in my 200tdi 110 , but I’ve gone for the 4HP24 out of a v8 as I’ve got an earlier engine, Ashcrofts do a backing plate to mount it and compushift to run it . There’s 2 threads on here about fitting the m57 one tells you all the pin outs for the ecu so you can mod the loom yourself, can’t remember which one .
  6. Thank you , you could spend months building a dash and sadly I don’t have that time but I’m happy how it looks.
  7. Not posted for a while as it's been cold and I've been made workshop team leader at work so been doing weekends but progress as started again as it's a bit warmer . Some of this is from christmas which is the last time I did a bit , first up big thank you to @vulcan bomberfor the vent surrounds , brilliant wasted no time getting them to fit , just need to countersink the fixing holes , we've got a small plasma cutter at work so made use of it to do the dash internal panels , top one with fixings for radio , then strengthened the main dash part a bit , and welded on the front fixings , and bottom fixing rivnuts then drilled hole in dash for heater control , and started spraying it all prior to trimming , more to follow tomorrow hopefully .
  8. Could be this one , there would be 6 bars in this .
  9. Try soaking it in penatrating fluid over night , but not looking good drilling might be your only option .
  10. You might be able to use a small chisel or flat blade screw driver and gently tap it round till you can get your fingers on it to get it out.
  11. Cheers western , will have a look tomorrow as it's supposed to be warmer , hopefully .
  12. Cheers monkie, know how you feel I’m at work was -4 this morning at 6.30 am not much warmer now 🥶
  13. Cheers all, it definitely is bloody cold out there hahahaha we live high up and the wind isn’t nice at all. Thanks everybody 👍.
  14. Hi all , could one of you kind people take some measurements for me please , I need the distance of the radiator locating pins from the outside and center to center of the two pins please . Reason is my Alisport xl one which has an Alisport frame and it has developed a leak so I'm fitting a standard one because I'll shortly be fitting an M57 so need to mod the frame , and Paddocks have let me down on delivery after sending emails saying it's been sent and expecting it today then got one to say delivery cancelled and it won't be here till next week as stock run out , so want to do the mods before it arrives . cheers Ian
  15. Think I definitely need one of them , my knees ache like bugger when I'm doing things like wheel bearings and getting up and down a lot .
  16. Changed the glow plugs on my M57 thought I'd do it before I installed it in the 110 , 4 snapped off in the holes , the head needed skimming anyway . The concensus on the FB page was get the engine up to temp before trying to remove them , so good luck 🤞.
  17. Here’s a link to the intercooler thread https://forums.lr4x4.com/topic/104474-intercoolers-and-other-bits/ , managed to dig it up , on the evans stuff I had a look on there website out of curiosity it says it’s made from synthetic based materials and is none toxic but doesn’t say exactly what it’s made of . On intercoolers , on the 300tdi I’m rebuilding I fitted a standard shaped intercooler but it was deeper I had to mod the frame which was easy enough there’s some photos in my build thread if you’re interested in that . I had a thought on fitting a 200tdi rad to the 300tdi which is totally doable and it’s always better to keep parts standard . You’d probably be better removing the viscous fan and fitting an electric one then if you use silicone hoses like I have they have Ali joiner pieces so all you’d need is the silicone hose lengths for in between .
  18. This is encouraging, thought I was the only one with all these traits.
  19. You take a look outside and say sod it I'll do it next week when it's warmer .
  20. If I'm still of this planet when they come down to my price range it would be the 110 , but I still aren't that keen on them might as well buy a Range Rover .
  21. I've just done mine and I used a garage press to fit it , lined it up and tapped it square with a drift then used a press to push it home and don't forget the thrust washer in the bottom of the bush . But make sure you don't fit two as it's a bugger to set the preload , don't ask how I know .
  22. I've got the Allisport wider rad and front mounted intercooler fitted to my 200tdi 110 , but I haven't got round to fitting a proper temp gauge yet it's in the shed somewhere just not had the time to do it . There is a thread I started on here after reading Daan's post about intercoolers where I measured the intake and outtake from the front mounted intercooler the temperature drop was quite significant , I planned to carry on with it at some stage but other things happened and with rebuilding a 90 I never got round to it and as I now plan to fit a BMW M57 into the 110 which has been on the cards since before COVID I haven't thought anymore about it . As for the radiator I fitted it from when I rebuilt the 110 thinking that it might help cooling when I tweaked the pump and upped the power , naively possibly as it was my first Defender and first time playing with them , would I fit one again ? No , I don't think it made a difference but it might work better with a standard intercooler which would be hard as it takes up the space occupied by it , but when I first started running it on the road and it is my daily driver I put Evan's waterless coolant in it and I think it ran slightly cooler than with standard stuff in , I know I can't give any data to back it up as I only had the standard Land Rover gauge fitted the needle seemed to sit slightly more to the cool side than it does know but it still got up to temp , mine warms up quite quickly and chucks out nice warm air .
