  7. Thanks for your help guys! I have found a online supplier of bearings & seals & there prices seem ok! They can be found here http://simplybearings.co.uk I have just ordered my bearing from them. Thanks again,
  8. Hmmm...... Thats what I thought as that is the number in my RR parts book! But I have been to Craddocks site to order the bearing & it says wrong part number. O well looks like I will have to ring them to order it.. Cheers for looking Regards,
  9. Hi All, I need the part number for the front prop flange bearing in the borg warner transfer box! This is the bearing that supports the viscous coupling. (89 Range Rover) I have the old part number which is RTC6025 if that helps Cheers,
  10. O'dear what have they done That must be the worst RR I have ever seen
  11. Geoff, The prop shaft won't be a problem as I had the same last year for the MOT It also saved him going on a road test to test the brakes as he could put it on the brake tester with the prop off!
  12. From personal experience I would pop along to the x-eng website or have a word with Simon Rafferty (simonr on this forum) as he sells these springs & has given me very good advice regarding them
  13. Ian, Thanks for the reply Haynes says the centrifugal advance for my dizzy is as below :- 4800 rpm 23 to 27 degrees 1800 rpm 10 to 14 degrees 1000 rpm 0 to 5 degrees Hope this means something to you! Cheers,
  14. Hi All, I am after a bit of advice re-ignition timing on my 3.5 v8 engine! Last year I fitted a recon army v8 into my RRC, It is running on SU Hif 44 carb's & has the points distributor - Serial number 41487 which is not switching the coil it is wired to a after market electronic ignition unit. The engine is 8.13 :1 compression ratio. The engine has been in for around 8 months & seems pretty good apart from it always seems a bit flat! Don't get me wrong it will go when you give it some welly but you have to sort of wind it up! The ignition timing has been set to the Haynes book of lies & for the above distributor it says it should be set to 5 degrees After TDC is this right ? I have set it to this setting static & checked it with a strobe as well. Is there another way of setting the distributor ie- by ear? Any help will be gratefully received Regards,
  15. I have a lawnmower with a old B&S engine on it & it is very good But I had a previous one that had a modern B&S engine & the build of it & the way it run in general was to say the least c**p!! So regarding B&S I would say they don't make them like they use to!! But as for a Honda powered generator this would be the one I would have I have used & serviced quite a few of the 3.5Hp to 7 Hp engines & IMHO they are great little power units! Hope this helps, Regards,
  16. That's a stunner Had me in stitches
  17. Hmmm...Just found this is this the item in question? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/LAND-RANGE-ROVER-fro...1QQcmdZViewItem
  18. I replaced a swivel seal & cv joint on my 89 RR about a month ago & when I stripped it there was no trace of a gasket & nothing was shown in my parts book! I assumed that there was not one there & the retaining ring on mine nicely clamped up against the seal! Maybe I am wrong & there should be one who know's.... Regards,
  19. Fi, You could give either of the below a try! http://www.abilitytyres.co.uk/ http://www.enterprisegarage.com/ I have not personally used either but I have heard good reports about Ability! Also Ability would be able to do both of the jobs you need doing... Hope this helps Regards,
  20. Graham, I am not 100% sure if you get the original number back! As during it's life my RR has had 2 private plates on it & the plate it has on it now is not the one it was first registered with when new
  21. Hi Guys, I recall seeing item 1 on my RR & after looking what it was when I found mine it is the thermostat for the heated washer jets & is normally located behind the grille by the drivers headlamp! Hope this helps! Regards,
  22. I would also agree & say the internals look pretty clean! My old EFi engine I swapped last year looked like somebody had put a bucket of tarmac under the valley gasket so in comparison yours is tidy
  23. James, Stickers arrived today Thank you
  24. HI, I was in a simular situation when the diesel car some how had £10 worth of petrol put in it What I did in the end was I went to my local scrap yard & got a electric petrol pump off a Vauxhall Cavalier which they charged me £5 for, then I added 2 lengths of petrol hose & 2 leads with croc clips on the end then job done 1 fuel transfer pump! I have used it on petrol/diesel & central heating fuel & touch wood all is ok & since it is a high pressure pump it shifts the fuel pretty fast! Hope this helps! Regards,
  25. I have never thought about a roof rack on my RRC before But after seeing what you have brought & how it looks I am quite tempted by the idea Nice one
