Morning all Having a few charging probs on my lightweight, Ever since its been re-wired the alt has only ever had 1 big (32mm) wire direct back to the batt via a cut out never had a prob with winching starting etc til recently where the batt completely dies, Speaking to someone yesterday and they recon I should have an extra wire going into the alt from somewhere like the ignition can anyone else confirm this ? if so why has it been working fine uptil now (brush pack has been replaced and a 2nd alternator has been tried but still having same prob) cheers Nick

  15. The vehicle's safety defects included: a fuel leak, fouling of the tyres on the bodywork and suspension arms, a kinked exhaust that was resting on the rear axle, the battery secured by elasticated cord, an incorrect seatbelt mounting and gaps between the windscreen and dashboard allowing any fumes into the drivers cab. would of thought they'd of fixed these before handing the mota back to the owner.

  23. yer i did think about that but i had already cut the stud down and the shocks already bottum out, might just go for harder bushes for now or atleast til the shocks die
  24. Cheers looks astho i need to change my shocks to an eye type and buy the pivot mounts have already tried cutting a bit off but the actual bend looks like its at the top of studd, makes sense about having the mount as far out as poss as the spring comes towards the shock on full droop thanks for the info (took me blooming ages to get the nut undone cos it was bent)
  25. Does anyone else have problems with the stud on the bottom of the front shocks (es9000) bending, can only guess that it's from having too much travel, any suggestions on different mountings ? cheers
