  2. You can adjust the steering box play by loosening central nut on top of box and adjusting with Allen key
  3. Hi All having some electrical issues with my 300 tdi discovery fog lights won't work and then they do work but stay on regardless of light switch position I can take switch apart and they stay on interior lights come on and off at will and near side headlight adjustment motor going all the time unless lights switched off unsure as to whether all these problems are linked any advice gratefully received thank you Stephen
  4. Have got the denso air con unit to go with bracket if that's any help
  5. Looks good I bought the Stahlwerk one again not a fortune but I only need it every so often so not hard worked the other thing I would add is get a foot pedal as this allows you to ramp up the power or back it off if weld puddle getting out of control without it you have to work pretty fast my foot pedal came with the welder same make works fine now but I added an additional spring as was jumping the teeth if you go that route and have issues I can take my pedal apart and photograph the mods and mail them to you have fun
  6. If you've ever done gas welding you will pick it up fairly easily but the important part is cleanliness you will need a stainless steel wire brush I've found this is sufficient but some use acetone to clean as well my recommendation would be to practice at table height sitting down as being comfortable makes the process a whole lot easier obviously a load of stuff on you tube practice on flat plate untill you can get decent consistent runs went through a few tungstens myself initially you will also need pure argon for the shield gas I suppose the key elements are clean work pieces and loads of practice hopefully you will be a natural very satisfying when it goes right what model tig did you get?
  7. Not seeing any helicoils in the one I have, just tapped out aluminium could be made reasonably easily however there is some angles with studding anyway this one is surplus to requirements if you would like to pm me Dailysleaze you can have it FOC
  8. To any that's interested the Fatface Landrover tee shirts are now £15 in the sales they also had one of a 130 but sadly not in my size
  9. I got 3 landrover tee shirts and money towards the IROKs I picked up for my portal project Santa's a grand lad
  10. How wrong was I thanks to my brilliant wife
  11. I think that could be welded and tapped out you would need to degrease it and a gentle amount of localised heat to burn any oil residue away also plug the hole before running a tap down it to prevent swarf getting into the pump body. As for fitting the other pump give it a try nothing to lose as your 6 bolt pump is already off however the 4 bolt pump is longer from the fixing holes than the 6 bolt one and this may clash with your front cross member have had that particular problem in the past but was a total off road car so I modified the cross member if you offer it up to the vehicle you will see what I mean hope this helps
  12. Just like to wish forum members near and far a very happy Christmas, have only been a member for a short while, although linked by an affinity for Landrovers in their many guises I find the assistance and advice given to what is essentially a faceless stranger for most members, exceptional .I personally should have joined years ago thank you.Whatever your projects or repairs are in 2019 I wish you success and fun in doing them Stephen
  13. Had a wee bit tinker about this morning with the above seems to be working fine on the series injectors I tried just need to decide if I actually need it or not as had it for years and only tried it out of curiosity you know how it goes when you get something in your head
  14. Have dug this out of the depths of my garage just wondering if any one in the forum has an instruction manual have not tried to see if working and don't know if it is all there any help appreciated thanks in advance
  15. Sounds a bit steep to me bearing in mind that garage will get parts at trade price so that's looking about £600-700 for labour can buy a lot of winter fuel for that job easy enough to do obviously need to drain oil and set up the swivel tension with spring balance afterwards altering shims to suit don't know if you have used it before but the one shot cv grease packs are great for re-lubeing afterwards
  16. Tried wheels on lightweight proper this morning good news is that width of axle with tyres is an inch narrower than my present set up so that's a tiny win for me however tyres run close to springs and obviously catch in radius arms springs may have to go inside chassis as well loads of fun close up of finished rims in pictures all taken with my potato camera 😃 also steering seemed ok and no vibration when driving so wheels must be round
  17. It's a work phone screen probably damaged with cement dust was using tablet but keeps telling me not enough memory other issue I have is forum pages don't lose have to go to specific page or if I want page 10 I have to select that page cannot read page 9 and then move on to 10 but I am a bit of a computer retard😕
  18. Both for £52 probably wouldn't have paid £35 for one as pennies needed for portal project
  19. Tyres are IROK super swampers don't know about 1st outing soon☺
  20. Well that's my Unirover / Landmog hybrid rims welded blended painted and tyres fitted should have gone to tyre fitters as would have been quicker but done now hmm where did I put them axles
