  1. Andy, or try here a little cheaper
  2. Chris ?? tank helmet ?? my prices quoted were approximate, for decent gear,, NOT cheap carp stuff, having just refitted one of the hire cars to current FIA spec obviously smoking better quality stuff that you are,
  3. It will more that likley go that way,, following MSA regs, BUT where does it stop,, if it goes along the lines of stage rally regs, add in the cost of approved helmets (£400), seats,(£400) harness (£220), overalls, (£450) plumbed in fire fighters,(£250) etc, etc Then that will be followed by FIA regs, ie, change the lot every 5 years (cost of aprox £2k+ etc) Am sure none of us want to skimp on our own safety, but in this day and age, its only a matter of time, before we are told, the above has to be done !!

Ditto,, done the same for a good few years, where ever possible, have gone for branded/oe parts,, You soon forget how much you pay for something, and get no problems Am in the parts game,, a customer may winge a bit with the initial cost, in this case say £ 20 odd, but when you sell them a cheaper pattern parts, and it breaks, they soon forget they bought the cheap one at say £10 !! and have to do the job again!!
  8. I have a couple of sets now, after bending disco steels, modulars etc, never had a problem with any of them, and as tough as the wolfs i used before !! Les B did go through a couple a while back, if i remember right, will watch with intrest,

  13. Well, as per the note above from Angela (BlackTJ ?) this julys event does seam to be the fullest ive seen, Yep i am going,, heading off sometime Fri morming. we holding hands Nick !! ?? Go for it Mark, would be good to she her out !!
  14. Jules Like Mark & Chris, I like/use Memory Map on a PDA, works well, via a bluetooth GPS unit, How useful on challenge events, I do not know, but place like seven sisters etc, where everywhere looks the same !! position via MM and being able to see where you have been (track) certainly helps But, I have this week gone down the tablet toughtbook PC route, for a number of reasons, mainly needed a helm position charterplotter on the boat, rather than fitting another dedicated marine plotter (Raymarine etc) gone toughtbook PC, so have loaded a charting system, also have memory map loaded so can be used for land use , as well as having mobile internet access, Also, if you got the chartplotter route, you need to check who's charting system they use, to make sure they do a land mapping system as well, i see the garmin as below use they own ,,"Garmin’s BlueChart® cartography" Chris, re touch screen, I thought that's what I wanted, but after trying one, went for the pointing digitizer pen type, more accurate, and you can rest you hand on the screen, without creating errors Re tripmeters, on the rally cars, have always preferred the Brantz units, much easier to calibrate,
  15. I rate these, Steve fitted one to the hybrid, Last time at 7S's i forgot to turn it off, got about 250 yards, and wonded why the brakes were sized solid, (auto, so it the rear brake line !!)
  16. I have a nice route on the machine somewhere, 4/5 hours, which starts by the airport, but most are now shut ??
  17. Sorry guys, Sun/Mon, is the last chance I have to sort the boat ready for 10 days racing, Channel isles/ northern France, at the end of the month !! maybe the next one !!
  18. No, thats souunds like Julian Vardy !! at TC bash,, would not have though so, last time i saw him was at the SR4x4 AGM, back feb time
  19. Mmmm, thought it was, so far, have heard all good reports,,
  20. errr , ye,, right all as clear as mud !!! saying that, am 95% sure there are some floppies with 95 on, at work somewhere, will have a look in the morning
  21. Matt ? Is this Julian's place ??
  22. I am one of the "several Hundred" who are happy as we are, I can see no problem, with the likes of BandL1 etc, posting "adds" if that's what you want to call them on the getting out forum!, whether they make a profit or not, all venues that accept us to "play" in charge us for the privilege, surely the more venue's we have the better,, As Paul says, the calendar is made up of events, but I can not see any "free" ones !! we all pay a entry fee to try and cover the cost to rent that few acres of land, all motorsport is the same
  23. Over the web, is a lot easier, all the "owned" vehicle are done that way,, only wish we could do the sales that way, it take 3/5 days, and sent to the last/pevious owner !!!
  24. A bit off topic (sorry),, I am a little concern that Chris happens to be looking at Canal World " site do you need a little help there !!! Also intruded, into how you tax a vehicle, when the Reg keeper and the insured are not the same !!! Our local post office will not issue a tax disc, if the name on the Reg doc and the name on the cover note are not the same !!! (i.e. keeper and insured)
