  1. Nic, I've scanned Land Rover's Supplementary Parts Catalogues for Military 110 & Military Defender 110, you can download them from here - http://www.defender110.nightmail.ru/ I also have the Supplementary Parts Manual for the 90, which I haven't got around to scanning yet. The 90's roll-over bar and it's fittings are the same as the 110's. I hope this helps. Paul.
  2. Todd, Yes, you're correct, it was in the 'crack' folder along with mg16.dll and the crack instructions (in Russian ) Paul.
  3. Mo, It was the shortcut, that Microcat automatically puts on the desktop when you install it, that I was referring to. If you don't have that shortcut, you can always do what you've done and create one. Also, don't forget that there's a Microcat menu item in the 'Start' menu, this should be edited, as above. Regards, Paul.
  4. My wife has a new Hyundai Matrix and wants me to fit a couple of bits from the LHD model (N/S/R fog lamp and front passengers seat armrest), so I thought I'd see if I could find an EPC for it on line. After a bit of Googling - I discovered that Hyundai use Microcat A bit more Googling and I found a Russian forum dealing with software car manuals and EPC's, by the magic of some BabelFish translation, it lead me to an ftp site with the Hyundai Microcat (July 2006 Ver.) WinRar files, which I downloaded, unpacked and installed B) Now to the point of my rambling The 'crack' was the usual replacement mg16.dll file - PLUS some clever person has written a JavaScript file which will change your computer's date to the Microcat's date, run the application and then put the computer's date back to today when you exit Microcat. I copied and edited the script file for the Land Rover Microcat - and it works I tried to attach it here - but got the message - Upload failed. You are not permitted to upload this type of file So go to my web space - http://www.hubbard.nightmail.ru/Microcat/ - right-click the file lrmc.js - select 'Save Target As...' and save it to your C:\MCLRE folder Once it's saved, right-click your Microcat shortcut, select 'Properties' Change 'Target:' to point at C:\MCLRE\lrmc.js Make sure that 'Start in:' points to C:\MCLRE You may also have to click on the 'Change Icon...' button and make sure that it's pointing to C:\MCLRE\mclre.exe Click on 'Apply' and then 'OK' So now when you double-click on the Microcat shortcut, it'll run the JavaScript file, which will set your computer's date to 04/09/2006, run Microcat and when you're finished, it'll set your computer's date back to today's date. You can edit the .js file with Notepad to whichever date your version of Microcat needs. Hope you all find it useful. Paul.
  5. That's great If you PM me the ftp details, I'll copy up the 2 x .iso image files. Paul.
  6. A mate has recently given me a copy of the VW/Audi EPC 'ETKA7' it's covers every VW/Audi car and light commercial since 1947. Once installed you can click on the update button, which connects to VAG and downloads the latest updates and prices. Browsing through it, I've discovered that VAG sell every connector on their vehicles individually (why can't Land Rover do that? ), so if you can find a suitable connector on a VAG vehicle, you can buy it from their dealers at quite a reasonable price. If anyone wants to host a copy for others to download, I'll send them a copy of the two CDs. Paul.
  7. Nige, How many ways do you actually need? How waterproof does the connector need to be? - splashproof or submersible? Why does it need to be rectangular? - almost all the high-spec waterproof connectors are round. Did you look at Polevolt? - they stock some connectors that most of the usual suspects don't. Paul.
  8. Chris, That'll be 'King of Lee' by the railway bridge in Lewisham? Those cheating pikeys had adverts in Exchange & Mart under almost every make of car and described themselves as the 'specialists' for second hand parts and reconditioned engines and gearboxes for that make. A woman I worked with's husband got ripped-off by them for a 'recon' Dolomite Sprint engine. Another bunch of crooked reconditioners just down the road at the bottom of Southend Lane by Bell Green in Catford were 'Redjep's Garage', they had my mate over with a 'recon' 3 litre V6 Zodiac engine which was more con than recon. That Heathrow Engine Centre were notorious con-men. A bloke I worked with got screwed by them over a Mercedes engine. Learning from other peoples mistakes, I've always reconditioned engines myself, using a reputable local machine shop for the reboring, crank grind, etc... Paul.
  9. Nige, These are Tyco AMP AMPSEAL Connectors, the link below gives details of the Plugs, Headers, Contacts, Gaskets and Seals - AMPSEAL Range The Plug you've pictured is an AMPSEAL 35-Way Plug Assembly (Black), Part No. 776164-1 Drawing for 776164-1 The Header you've pictured is an AMPSEAL 35-Way Header (Black), and is one of the following eight Part No's (Depending on whether it's Vertical or Right-Angle Mounting, with or without gasket and the contact material) - Part No's - 1-776163-1 776231-1 1-776180-1 1-776231-1 776230-1 1-776230-1 776163-1 776180-1 As an example here's the Drawing for 776231-1 (This range of connectors are also available in other colours) I'm not sure where you'd get them from singly, but this place sells some AMP ECU connectors and may be able get them for you - PoleVolt Ltd. The other possible sources are RS Components or Farnell - both of whom are UK suppliers and stockholders of Tyco AMP Connectors. They don't appear to list them but, again, may be able to source them for you. I found this place in the USA, that sells Tyco AMP Connectors and claims to ship worlwide - Gopher Electronics - Tyco AMP 776164-1 Paul.
  10. Both myself and my mate have spoken to David Bowyer and his wife at the shows a number of times over the years, sometimes as customers and sometimes just browsing. We've always found them very pleasant and chatty. Paul.
  11. I'm with Ralph on this, only use the genuine Land Rover ones. After seeing military 90's and 110's recovered and lifted on them, you wouldn't want to take a chance on fabricated ones. Ralph is correct, the Land Rover part number is RRC3237 Genuine ones have RRC3237 in raised letters/numbers on the ring - Britpart copies are identical, except for this (and we all know how 'good' some Britparts are, don't we ) There is also a genuine parts widened version, part number ZXC9435 This is 97mm across the throat, compared to 85mm on RRC3237 - If you want lifting/towing rings on your bumper mounts, again I would only use the genuine ones and limit their use to towing on the road as they're not really up to recovery or lifting forces, even though Land Rover describe them as 'lifting/towing rings'. There are two types - one for Series and one for Defender. But there's no reason why you couldn't use either type on either vehicle. The Defender type is part number NRC9011 and looks like this - The Series type is part number 242139 singly, or 267950 as a pair - There's a lot of very nasty looking copies of the Series type around and I personally would avoid them. Paul.
  12. If you're not too worried about the vents being genuine Land Rover (they're not that good, anyway!), then have you thought about making your own or adapting something from a DIY store or a boat chandlers. Some of these look useful, they aren't that expensive and they're available online - Sea-Screw Marine Hardware - Stainless Steel Louvres They also sell lots of other 'Land Rover Useful' bits. Paul.
  13. The vehicle the Army call the 'Snatch' Land Rover is the Courtaulds Aerospace (now NP Aerospace) CAV100 Composite Armoured Vehicle - Details here - British Defence Equipment Catalogue Paul.
  14. Those rear roof vents were also used in the top rear sides of Maestro vans, there should be plenty of them in scrappies Paul.
  15. A mate of mine found this while browsing the web - Title: Universal Aluminium Light Bar Product Code: C14 Description: Roof mounted. Suitable for vehicles with or without rain gutters. The light bar comes with soft pads to protect the roof paint work and is supplied with 3 different hooks to fit different vehicles. 16. Jamie, Not any more, I'm afraid But if anyone out there does have an ISPL, I'd be grateful for a copy Paul.
  17. Jim, I only have the AESP, not the ISPL (although I wouldn't mind a copy if someone has one, please) I've put the intake diagram here - http://www.defender110.nightmail.ru/Extrac...r%20Intakes.jpg it shows the component parts, but no part numbers. Paul.

  19. John Craddock has the later military type for £14 + Carriage & VAT Part Number : RRC5662 REAR DOOR PULL HANDLE 90/110 MILITARY http://www.johncraddockltd.co.uk/productno...?partno=rrc5662 Paul.
  20. I did exactly the same thing when I took my wiper switch apart The spring 'pinged-out' and I then spent the next hour, or so, trying every way of re-fitting it until I arrived at the right one. It was a few years ago when I did mine, but Ralph's description of re-assembly sounds right. I also fitted the Hella adjustable intermittent wiper control. I found the instructions easy enough to follow, once I'd determined how my wipers were wired - hence dismantling the wiper switch. Paul.
  21. They're there for equipment access. I had a good nosey around inside one of them when it was being used outside my office. I found these pictures on the web a while ago (click on pics for full size) - I noticed that it still has a 'Land Rover 110' grille badge. Paul.
  22. re: re: 1. You're right. The shear pin failing is the ultimate limit, it's the sacrificial link protecting the rest of the mechanism. That's why it's not a good idea to replace it with any old bit of rod or bolt. We've always used a Tirfor with two people and have never snapped a pin yet - I'm guessing that this is because the Tirfor machine is also rated for lifting (including man-riding) and the safety margins involved are very high. re: re: 2. The proper handle is 2-piece telescopic - so stows easier. http://www.tractel.com works for me Paul.
  23. Jim, The proper Tirfor handle is better than a bit of old scaffold tube for a couple of reasons - 1. It provides the correct amount of leverage. 2. The flange locks the handle to the machine (for winching in), so that it don't come flying off when you're working up a sweat Paul.
  24. Jim, I got hold of Tirfor Winch a few years ago, it had no handle and the rope was a birds nest with lots of kinks in it. I bought a new handle, rope and metal reel to keep the rope on from 'Lifting Gear Hire' - http://www.lgh.co.uk/ I don't know where you're based, but they have 34 Branches Nationwide - http://www.lgh.co.uk/lifting-gear-hire/branches.htm You're right about http://www.tirfor.co.uk/ not working properly, but their parent company website - http://www.tractel.com/ is working, here's the link to the Tirfor Winch pages - http://www.tractel.com/en/html/products.php?cat=17 Paul.
