  1. Matt Savage also has some nice px switches as well. Matt Savage
  2. Raining, I don`t think its rained here for at least 4 months now. Bloody hot though, at least 40 every day and down to 30 at night. Funny thing is after living in the UK for so long I would`nt mind a couple of days of rain every now and then.
  3. You might`nt think there were saftey measures in place, but they are all wearing helmets, so they arn`t as stupid as they look. Personally I would rather my kids doing that than doing drugs or similar. To me the only real harm done is posting it on the net. If my mother knew of 1/2 the things I got up to when I was younger I would have been out of the will a long ago, but thats the thing of being young and stupid, you think you are invincable, then you start to learn from your mistakes.
  4. I must admit, I`ve done similar things 20 years ago, we`d go and find a cheap wreck and go and trash it, when you divide the cost by 4 its pretty cheap fun for an afternoon. We had a military area to do it on that was already full of wrecked and stolen vehicles. When your 17/18 years old it seems like a good idea at the time. I`d say they are just in the young and stupid class, not the sort of thing you want to advertise on the net though.
  5. Tony keep an eye on Maplins website, when they discount them they discount them by about 50%. There have been a lot of discounted Maplin ones flogged on eblag for a big mark up on the origional discounted Maplin price. I got one of their 300w ones and it is percet for charging camera batteries, and powering laptops etc.
  6. Ali, I got a Safari top from ARB in Perth a few years ago, for about 70 bucks, it should`nt be to much trouble getting one over there.
  7. So what happens now mate, back to reality, and back to work like the rest of us. Glad you enjoyed your trip around OZ.
  8. Good concept, but there is more leverage with a bigger wheel now, so I`d be worried about the back door being able to support it.
  9. Must say, I not sorry to have left the UK with carp like that, not that I drove in London very often, its just the principle of it.
  10. Hmmm, glad its not mine, yep if it was legally parked I`d go to town with the council, looks like Ken is going to get a bigger truck if he want to remove all the 4x4s.
  11. Dave and Jim, thanks for the write up, very interesting to hear a couple of longer term reports.
  12. Hmmm, suprisingly enough, no bids, how strange.
  13. It`ll ge good to hear how it goes. Shame it has to go to make room for the 8274, as it would be interesting to hear about it long term.
  14. Shame the cable did`nt snap and take his head off. Harsh but true.
  15. Thanks mate, I might have to go on the hunt for one in a couple of months.
  16. No cheap, but you get what you pay for, at least adding the rear winch will be a hell of a lot cheaper as you already have all the other ancillaries in place. I spose by the time you do all the mods to an 8274, especially a new one, it would`nt work out a hell of a lot cheaper. Looking foward to seeing the piccies of the rear one when its in place.
  17. G`day all, whats to go with the EP9s, I want to throw a winch on our 110 later in the year, and was considering a 9.5xp. I want something small and light, so I can shove it in the front, so things like an 8274 and the warns with the solinoids on top are out. I would also like to run plasma, and don`t want to blow the budget, so all in all the EP9 seems like a good winch that would fit the bill. What are the EP9s like compared to a 9.5xp, I would consider a Husky, but don`t want the weight. Thanks all
  18. Instead of offering instuction, you could phrase it as advice, and assistance for recovery, that way you don`t need to give instructions.
  19. Hmmm, that is impressive, what sort of money are you talking about for a set up like that, rough figures, the winch, pump etc are fixed costs, but then when you start adding the pipes, vlaves, reservior etc, I`d imagine you would have to be looking at 1500-2K ish. Certainly needs to be added to the tech archive.
  20. Personally I`d fit the lockers first, unless you are planning on doing a winch challenge, as chances are if you go anywhere, lanning or play sites, you probably be going with some one who has a winch or who can recover you by other means. But with out the lockers you are more limited to where you can go. Winches also spend 1/2 their time recovering other people, at least with the lockers you get the value.
  21. If I had a tent like that I`d rather leave it on the ground, would`nt be worth the hastle of securing all the corners etc, instead of pegging then, not to mention not having a proper ladder to get in and out at the opening etc.
