  1. Make a big loop with the excess length, the original short cable is no longer available.
  2. Still waiting on good weather & need some time off work to get my overdrive refitted & see how it behaves. I will get to it sometime.
  3. Pretty sure mmgemini did a similar fix on his 300tdi vac pump.
  4. Try John Richards Surplus or Blanchards or Hobsons on internet Td5 cluster needs to complete insttument surround as it fits from the opposite way to pre Td5 vehicles
  5. Pretty much, it will only fit 2 ways, IIRC mine is the same as yours, hose/nrv towards the engine.
  6. You need a type 50, small diameter wide from front to back, same as my 1989 110CSW
  7. Yes, I have bent both stalks so I can operate them without taking a hand of steering wheel, IRC I placed a thumb on side nearest wheel then eased the stalk towards the wheel with other hand on the opposite side, just a little bit of pressure until the stalk is where you want it.
  8. Posted by me for a mate, his D2 Td5 has a starting issue. - - - - - Still have discovery starting issues.. I just can’t work out if it’s electrical or fuel related.. obviously did the injector harness, cleaned out the red ecu plug (common fault apparently ) , I’ve replaced the fuel filter, fuel filter head/housing and all attached non return valve and other valves going into it.. I try starting the landy and it just turns over , then I run the battery down trying to start it. .. It will start after jump starting, but only after it turns over for a bit before starting.. I’m at a loss to what to do ..
  9. If the VIN is on the plate riveted to brake pedal assembly top cover, then there is no need to stamp the chassis or involve dvla, my galv chassis isn't stamped but I do have the VIN stampede section from my original chassis & the receipt for the new chassis
  10. Ground/Earth connection is via bullet terminals to a ring terminal to a nolt/nut through front edge of inner wing vertical panel behind the headlight, possible a broken wire or a faulty light unit.
  11. It's the same motor on all pre 300tdi 4 cylinder diesel engines
  12. Just keep a eye on the core plug & oil way plug, best to sort them as soon as you can.
  13. I would guess that metal plug was added by a previous owner, My 200tdi was brand new in mid 1994 & the rubber plugs were factory fit.
  14. Nope they are proper rubber bungs for that job LR part ERR5034 Plug camshaft oil feed x 3 https://www.johnrichardssurplus.co.uk/land-rover-camshaft-rubber-blanking-plug-etc7708-use-err5034.html
  15. All the info in http://www.retroanaconda.com/landrover/2009/12/land-rover-defender-90-parts-book/
  16. Replace the core plug, Rubber bung missing from camshaft bearing oil drilling, there are 3 of these on that side of block Check the pipes are not cracked or rusted & replace the rocker cover seal under the nut
  17. Could be for dim dip, if there are 2 blue/red trace wires join those with a jumper wire or the dummy relay then dim dip will work but thought that was located behind instrument pack as on 300tdi defenders
  18. There should be a metal cased relay for headlights, My 110 was a TD, I don't remember a red relay socket.
  19. Check the wire colours against the appropriate wiring diagram, the wire colour code will note what they are for.
  20. Horn is earthed to body horn push is 12v feed
  21. It's a alloy shim, they are about 1mm thick & usually fitted as required. Parts list shows qty 6 per vehicle so 3 on each side.
  22. Remove the rubber covers I engine bay, then 4 nuts that secure turrets to the fixing ring, then lower damper attachment & lift turret & damper off the spring mounts
  23. With a flat top beam, no need for deflection stickers,
