  1. Ok due to mixed messages I seem to remember that disco 2 bearings are not replaceable, you need a full hub at £300 ish but then I remember sonething about its the same as a P38 where you can change bearings. anyone?
  2. and they are cheap if not self priming.
  3. I bought some grip tape from ebay, to go on the rocksliders, as I kept slipping off. its good but wont add any strength.
  4. also dont forget the fan switch stops working if the water level drops. better in the bottom hose as it senses temp back into the engine.
  5. But whichever Mag runs "Billing" gets bigger subscriptions as people want cheaper rates.
  6. We spent the week at Newark, day passes were £10, its well drained and never seemed to get muddy anywhere, there were a few autojumble stalls to the poster who didnt see them, you must have stayed next to the main arena? security was good I didnt hear of any thieving or trouble. much as I love Billing, its getting too small and crowded. Newark is a purpose built showground, they can cope with events like this. oh and as to carp roads to it? the A1 is about 2 miles away?? with a dual carrigeway connecting it?
  7. Im sure this has been done before, something about only one seat, and not able to carry a load, comes to mind.
  8. Well chaps, it looks like they are both on, do we have a book on who will loose the most money?
  9. I was always taught to drive the wheel onto the spare, to avoid having to jack too far,
  10. try putting the battery on charge overnight, once you know the battery is fully charged you can start from there, a common problem with 300tdis is a lazy starter.
  11. Didnt someone (overfinch I think) do a secondary doorseal, supposedly to reduce noise but would also stop lots of dust ingress.
  12. MEASURE THE INSIDE, FAILING THAT i READ THE WRITING ON THE WHEEL. caps lock
  13. ditch it and put an electric fan on.
  14. They are the same as a 5 door hon, I have secondhand ones but you no doubt need new sandproof ones?
  15. The rear prop joint is a rubber doughnut, the rest are UJs, spend a little time under it with a tyre lever you will find the loose bush, unless its general transmission wear.
  16. Is that why you were shouting at him sunday?
  17. so you stamped it after galving? I was wondering as on the bobtail rebuild I am planning to galv the chassis and was wondering if you would still be able to read the stamp.
  18. I noted that some teams both sat in the car until they came to a halt, others the bitch ran holding the end of the winch rope, like walking the dog, the second method seemed faster to me, as soon as the car stopped they were rigging the pull, rather than having to unbuckle get out and then start playing with the winch. but what do I know?
  19. if it came off the car, and wasnt a problem? leave it alone?

Or just as the cops give chase james bond style, er how do you manage with only 5 litres? I usually use 10 at least, and im a Yorkshireman. but I do buy it cheaply.
  21. Doh I was with Gwynn at the weekend, could have brought them with me,
  22. 2, is often cased by knocking the rear bumper up, when off roading, I find the application of two or three mates standing on the bumper usually fixes things. until next time.
  23. but dont forget the bolts for the drive member, one of them is needed to pull the driveshaft back to get the circlip on, then stick the bolt back where it belongs,
