Its longer than it is wide. I towed it about 20 miles home behind my series 2 (down the country lanes), I had to have the near side in the hedge to keep it out of the ditches

Don't know about weight but the baler is between 9' and 10' wide, you'd need a wide load escort🤣

I'll take you up on that, no date in mind but probably in the next few years, lived in St Annes for about 20 years and have a big soft spot for it.

Yeah opposite ends of different countries, ironically when we eventually move from here, back to St Annes is a possibility, don't think it'll go on a removal van though😃

I may have my complete setup for sale in the not too distant future, disc mower, PZ haybob and New Holland 276 baler.

Thanks for the reply's, the solar panel would be wired through a charge controller, I think what I had forgotten (or never knew in the first place) is that the controller will shut off if it detects a higher voltage, so whether that is from the alternator or from a 240v charger it should disconnect the solar panel if I'm understanding correctly? @FridgeFreezer are those voltage settings on your controllers what they will try to deliver to the battery or is the voltage at which they will disconnect?

Hi, quick question for you electrical guru's. I have a leisure battery that is charging through a split charge relay, the battery just runs a 40l compressor type fridge, a few lights and USB points but I'm finding that if I'm parked up for more than a few days I'm running out of juice so I would like to add a solar panel to keep things topped up. Occasionally we are on a campsite with EHU so I thought about adding a small smart battery charger as well. My question is, would this be ok? Split charge and a solar panel and a 240v battery charger all connected to the leisure battery? Obviously the split charge and battery charger would never be on at the same time but would the solar panel 'argue' with the 240v battery charger when I have EHU?

I went with Mordant T-wash then etch primer then some red oxide primer I had in the shed and then black metal paint, nothing fancy (aldi I think) thinned down enough to spray. Its been on for 5 years now and no chips and still looks like new

Sounds an interesting project Mike, I'll be watching with interest. I know Ifor Williams 5 stud axles are LR stud pattern and some of the stock trailers even come on 16" wheels but most are 12" I think. What overall size are you going for?
