Any home versions of norton and mcafee are a waste of space, you want the corporate versions. Mcafee 8.5 works well as does symantec corp. edition. running Mcafee on most of the machines i look after. wouldn't ever let AVG near anything

If you have had the head off get it skimmed and pressure tested, saves wasting alot of time and money.

My rear diff self destructed over the weekend after a trip to the shop and back So as I now need a whole new diff, cw and pinion I was looking at replacing it with either a Detroit locker or a Trutrac. Anyone using/used any of these in a disco and any recommendations? not going to go for an air locker as I can't justify the cost atm as I need new tyres as well.

Solid type on mine, jacked the chassis up a bit but old one came out no trouble and new one in no probs

Looking into water injection on mine so following with interest

Check all calipers and wheel bearings, mine was doing this and i had 2 siezed calipers on the rear and a knacked rear wheel bearing that pulled itself straigh when breaking but sent me off in a random direction

No issues with comfort with a 2" lift on mine, but you will probably have to remove the rear arb as the links turn upside down.

Haynes Jag manuals have a simple section on rear wheel bearings - take to local jaguar dealership

You should prime any new turbo or one that's been sat off an engine for a while. Disconnect the fuel stop solenoid and turn the engine over for 5 - 10 secs until the oil pressure warning light has gone out. Then start the engine.

Sounds very much like the switch, Mk5/6 escorts do exactly the same thing when it goes wrong

Whipped the engine out of mine a few times to sort issues and can be done in a morning without too much hassel. Removing the steering box makes things easier tho

Just out of interest has the disco ever had its injectors checked and/or replaced as mine did 200(ish) miles per tank and after new injeectors is well over 300 miles per tank and should be alot better when on road tyres. It may just be the acetone has cleared some carp off the injectors or is masking another problem with the engine

the unichip should be mapped on the car afaik and isn't a normal plug and go chip, normally hear good reports from people who use them

Sounds like the valve itself is leaking, tbh its best removed and blanked along with a new top hose and inlet manifold flushed out.

Never had any problems with paddocks on anything i have ordered, but its like any supplier some people have no issues and some have loads

Stick it on ebay as it will sell, might be worth doing the cambelt as its always something worth saying when a buyer asks when it was done and it doesn't cost alot to do

300 tdi disco lift pump - where to get on the bank hols

200 tdi has female threaded fittings, 300 tdi has pipes coming out at right angles to the pump so sadly not interchangeable
