  1. Elbekko Larger tyres like 255/55 R18's that are on mine? Certainly the other side would be better as it would not interfere with the visibility on the right hand drive models.
  2. Like it very much. I have two dogs who live in the boot of both my Disco and my Range Rover. This will allow me to carry the spare wheel in safety and let the dogs use the boot. Problems is you are down under.
  3. My CSK is converted, My last P38 was converted and my current P38 is in the process of being converted. Agree with the above "I would not have it any other way" Even though my p38 does little mileage when I took it the 400 miles to London in September it made me weep the amount of petrol I used even though I topped 23MPG. Go for it you will never look back
  4. Jezz More info maybe some drawings. It sounds like a good idea.
  5. Geoff I have a garage who can unlock the code they did it for my last Range Rover. I will leave it for a couple of week and combine it with the MOT as he is 40 miles away.
  6. Andy that is very generous of you Thanks but I have a GEMS engine. I think I will test the AA's home start. But I suspect they will just want to take the car to a garage.
  7. Ash Just pulled the handle off another Range Rover and found that there is a lot of play in the locking mechanism which could send the wrong code to the computer. It is one to look out for in the future. I think there is more scope in removing the door handle and manipulating the lock by hand.
  8. I know exactly what caused my battery drain and it was my own stupid fault. Your drain can be down to the RF receiver on your car. It is on the same frequency as wireless broadband and this can keep the cars electronics awake causing battery drain. The receiver has three different generations. That I do know.
  9. Interesting about the battery needing good charge thank for that. I have two other door locks with keys so to input the code I can change one out temporarily although I do think I will need to replace as my lock was buzzing when I locked it before the battery failure. Cutting the wires also makes sense as you would just be simulating the electrical switch. Will let you know how things go thanks for the assistance. Any other ideas greatly appreciated.
  10. The battery on my P38 went flat and now I am left with my engine immobilized. I have tried inputting the keycode but it does not work. I have tried resyncing the key and that does not work. Does anybody have any ideas what else I can do?
  11. I saw it too in LRO the guy built the through diff himself using two diff one upside down. He seems to have done a great job on it too.
  12. Look for something equivalent even from a newer model and double. As I say you can always reduce the price.
  13. Your parents policy should have an allowance for taking stuff away from the home. If so increase that to cover your tools, listed specifically, then leave them in your truck. If anything happens they were stolen/lost from your vehicle.
  14. Can you not transport the tools when you need them rather than keeping them there? The Landy will be covered under your car insurance so you will not need additional cover.
  15. Suggest you get a front bumper like this next time :- http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Land-Rover-Discovery-heavy-duty-bumper-/181238094279?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2a32a1d9c7 Have something similar on my Disco and it certainly protects the car. I wreaked two bumpers clipping hedges. The rest of the stuff will be easy to get and if you are prepared to bid on Ebay you will be able to get the parts fairly cheaply.
  16. The door handle on my offside read door came off in my hand lat week. I have not had time to sort it yet but before it came off I looked a few times to try and sort it. What I need to know is how to get it off my old door and how to fit it to the new door.
  17. What I want to know is where the house keeper lives?
  18. I have broken a few Early Range Rover and a few years ago cleared out a lot of stuff and dumped it. Bad move the value of Classic stuff particularly early classic stuff is rising. Put it on Ebay with a very high starting price and see what happens. You can always reduce the price and if you do it at a time of free liting it will not cost you anything.
  19. Just driven home from London today having been there since Sunday. Have now determined that the only time I have a stutter was when it was in third and I was giving it the beans. I guess it was trying to shift up and the computer was forcing it to go down again.
  20. Bowie there is actual miss fire as there is hesitation..
  21. Have never replaced the clutch on anything by taking the engine out. Just too much to disconnect so always opt for the gearbox out. Having said that it is a long time since I did a clutch and should have done mine when the chassis was being done but did not have the cash. So could be looking at doing one very soon.
  22. Am getting a miss fire at high revs. I tried a different coil pack and that seemed to move the misfire further up the rev range. To begin with the rev counter would flutter around 3000 rpm. Now I am closer to 4000 rpm with the changed coil pack. Is there other things it could be rather than the coil? I am thinking O2 sensors but I have no ideas really. It is the GEMS system that is installed on the car.
  23. Chassis chassis and chassis. Just done a Chassis swap on mine after owning it for less than a year. Completely shot and the worst the garage had seen. Air suspension is great although I did ditch the ACE on the rebuild because it would have been a nightmare to sort properly and that comes from Land Rover technicians. Replaced the shocks with Terrafirma and the wallowing does not exist. I have a P38 as well and both are great vehicles the only issue I have with the RR is all the electronics and from that view buy a pre 1999 and they are, very slightly, less complicated.Would agree 4.6 on LPG.
  24. It is a newish head unit I am trying to install. I do not have sound from the front right and rear left and think I may have a blown amp so after all the work I may just wire the head unit directly to the speakers and be done with it. Unless someone has a better idea.
  25. Fitted a full set and a steering damper on mine when I did the chassis rebuild. Having removed the ACE I was told that the handling would be awful. Did not notice the difference and suspect that was down to the Terrafirma shocks.
