  1. no more snow down here but its -2 at the moment roads are like skating rinks
  2. i noticed the 6 litre in my shed which has got the ships wheel approved for offshore is not frost protected temp rating +5 to +60 so no good if it gets cold i know the additive to stop them freezing lowers their fire rating but i would rather have a extinguisher that works rather than a frozen lump,chris.
  3. i have 2 afff fire extinguishers in the disco 1x2l and a 6litre i noticed the 2l was sweating upon inspection i found this to be frozen as it was not frost protected the 6litre is ffrost protected with an additive maybe worth checking as its no good frozen in the time of need,chris.
  4. its snowing here in colchester drove down from lowestoft at 1700 bit of snow on the a12 but its snowing quite hard in colchester
  5. ive got a sealey sj10 bottle jack and a sj6 thay both will fit under the disco and lift it enough to remove wheels sealey are doing winter promotions on their bottlejacks,chris.
  6. i think the ex aa vision alert lightbars are a good set up especially with the brake lights etc this is what im looking at next,chris.
  7. vision alert are the older rotator ones fitted with stop tail and indicators often turn up on e bay the new aa led ones are vision alert but i dont rate them as thay dont have 360 coverage but like its been said premier hazard are a good brand i have a 4 rotator britax on my disco at the moment with 2 vision alert led in the rear window code 3 are a good make but you dont see many about,chris.
  8. sikaflex takes a lot of beating but aint cheap failing that a can of underbody sealant brush on plenty once its dry the carpet will cover it and wont be seen ill check my shed to see if i still have some sikaflex,chris.
  9. i would say the water is getting in through the join where the roof is fixed to the sides thay seem to use a white paste type sealer i know its messy but i dried mine and filled the gutter with waxoyl/underseal this has cured it for the last 2 years,chris.
  10. i would go for shotblasting using chilled iron shot this will remove galv we used to do a lot when i worked as a shotblaster
  11. it isnt sucking in loads of water but last weekend when it rained hard the paper filter was damp ive put my k&n back well oiled as its wet at the moment not too much dust about i can get hold of a mushroom top easily just wanted to know if these would stop the water chris
  12. im looking for some advice i fitted a safari snorkel a while with the standard top the problem i find is driving in the rain it sucks in water i know i can turn it around but my question is will the mushroom top stop this views appreciated,chris.
  13. i cant see it being a problem as long as it looks decent from underneath ive never had an mot man lift the rear carpet to look under like you said the motor was a freebie so i would get it sorted also check the cills at the bottom of the door pillars mine had the worm there, chris.
  14. i know a bloke who uses denso paste then covers it with denso works well ubt i would think is a pain to apply
  15. as you have said good soaking in wd40 and once you get it free cover it in grease i often use the white spray grease this seems to withstand being washed off and various other road spray,chris.
  16. as its been said i didnt notice any better performance with the k&n just whined more through the snorkel
  17. my mate got a tug last week for towing not in accordance to his licence hes looking a t least 6 points and a fine but hes waiting for his court appearance so yes you will get done if caught and i suppose your insurance would be invalid,chris.
  18. no one has mentioned facom yet i have a lot of facom and never had any problems with it
  19. have you changed the oil filter and oil if the filter is old clogged this will make a difference
  20. as les said ive got a 3/8 drive socket set about 4 years old never had any problems i find halfords pro range are good and also britool take a lot of beating but sealey will replace any of their premier range that breaks as will halfords,chris.
  21. what about denso tape takes a lot of beating and from memory not expensive
  22. i know its a long shot but i had a head gasket go on a maestro van replaced gasket etc but it smoked like a steam train and the fumes made your eyes water i found this to be antifreeze burning which had filled the exhaust silencer etc after a lot of thrashing about this cleared just a thought ,chris.
  23. sorry mate should of said we fit these to tracked excavators thay are protected by a 3amp fuse thay dont draw a lot of current chris
  24. we fit vision alert cameras at work these are about 200 a piece but also have a sound facility good clear picture but not the best in direct sunlight,chris.
