  1. its not the easiest job in the world and yes the gearbox is heavy/ awkward ive done 2 now using the trolley jack method sliding the box back in the tunnell,the most crucial part is getting the new plate alingned and then you wont have to hold the box for too long if you dont rush and take your time it should be ok,chris.
  2. i agree with you les i had a vauxhall midi van isuzu engine this always needed easy start once hot was ok but it took about 6 months to kill it done the big ends you couldnt turn the radio up enough to drown out the knocking,chris.

  4. if its like most bottle jacks there is either a screw or rubber bung near the top remove this bung and with the jack fully retracted fill with hydraullic oil to this level,chris.
  5. i know this is a long shot and maybe some will agree or disagree but a few years ago a lot of vans went missing in essex and the police were pulling over vans checking drivers id ,ive often been stopped at night in a jcb surely forces could do the same with land rovers and maybe once the word gets around not so many will go just my 2p worth,chris.

  7. like its been said we run some mini excavators with this sort of pin and thay have a tendency to snap where thay have been drilled especially if there not greased and the pin tends to snatch,chris.
  8. i changed mine about 2 years ago r380 box can be done from under but is a pain ill have a look for the part no just join the 2 wires toghether at the joins and if your lights work then its the switch , chris.
  9. i used morris lubricants mtf 94 ordered on line came next day by courier,chris.
  10. like its been said spray a solution of fariy liquid over the tyres including the bead and look for bubbles if the bead is clean it shouldnt leak there is a solution made by tip top for sealing beads we often use it on jcb rear tyres,chris.
  11. i would check all the wiring for a earth fault clean all the contacts a earth fault will cause all manner of strange problems,chris.
  12. i find the hardest is pumping them back up even with the valve core removed ive been looking at making/buying a bead seating tank tried putting a 205/80/16 onto a modular last week took me ages to blow it up ratchet strap didnt work borrowed a bead seater tank less than a minute ive just trying to justify the 150 quid,chris.
  13. if i remember the paint code is c42 but go to a paint supplier who can scan the colour and mix a match,chris.

  17. hello ive come acrost a woodway headlight flasher as used on emergency vehicles it is model no hf1000 looked on the internet no joy emailed woodway no joy has anyone fitted one of these and can help many thanks,chris.
  18. mine was crunching i changed to mtf94 the other week its a lot better now more expensive but i think it was worth it purchased from morris lubricants on line it made an improvement,chris.
  19. i noticed a difference after removing the cat ive got no rear box just a straight through piece of pipe its a bit more responsive at lower revs as its been said give the intercooler and pipe work a good clean,chris.
  20. i done a dance yesterday not from welding but from cleaning out a ditch with a mini excavator no cab,pulled out a wasp nest about the size of a melon,i didnt know this until the burning sensation on my arm,back,leg,head,and it was the mad run dance to the disco i think i was lucky when you see the amount of wasps flying about sorry to hijack your thread but it might bring a smile to your face,chris.
  21. as bm said it could of been drilled out to an odd size there are various agri valves which bolt in place also you might be able to use an alloy wheel valve run it to your local tyre garage and see what thay have ,chris.
  22. ive got some rather large durite plant lamps to be honest thay are probably too big but thay were free but the upside is thay dont throw light on the bonnet look at profile picture,chris.
  23. hello ive got a n plate disco been through 3 mot passed no probs a diesel as far as i know does not have to have a cat thay only do a smoke test ive also got no rear box just a straight through piece of pipe no probs with the mot,chris.
  24. ive got a n plate discovery 300tdi with the plate above the radiator and a sticker on the back but i cant see any difference with any other, chris.
  25. we have one of the clarke cir24 cordless impact wrenches i think it was about 85 quid does the job not the best but i think it was worth the money,chris.
