  1. ive had no probs with halfords pro tools i also have a fair bit of facom tools no probs, the sealey pro range has been ok thay also replace no probs as i shattered a couple of normal sockets with a chatter gun, my fault but sealey replaced them no probs,chris.
  2. does hydraulic oil explode under compression and i think its dearer per gallon than diesel as its been said heating oil can be used as long as oil is mixed to lubricate the pump but i dont know about hydraulic oil let us know if it work.
  3. try the pmr446 radios thay run at 500mw but can work up to 2 mile in open space the motorcycle driving schools use them around here bike to bike i have a pair of motorola xtn446 work ok and you can buy various headsets etc chris
  4. try bosal thay will sell bends straights etc just bought a 68mm 2 metre length for 10.00 you can download their catalogue chris.
  5. i would check the radiator take it out flush it through has it still got all the alloy fins or has some gone check the thermostat mine had a similar prob if i thrashed it in fifth, if you can thrash a 300tdi and it was the radiator hope this helps,chris.

  7. we tried a grease made by state chemical xp and ap grease about 2 times the price of other grease but it was like elastic brilliant in ujs if you put some on your hand you could pull it for about 9 inches before it would part company but now we use the cheapest supplier jcb being the cheapest at the moment,chris.

  10. i use jcb blue grease it does what it says on the tube if your local to me i have some here if you want a tube chris
  11. did the clutch take a hammering i know it sounds stupid but you could burn it out in a day if you changed everything then perhaps the next is the clutch ,did you get the horrible burning smell if i slip mine its a pain to get into gear for a while until it cools just a thought
  12. have you checked the rubber piping get someone to pump the clutch while you check the rubber piping make sure it aint swelling under pressure when you got back from playing had you lost all your fluid failing that the pushrod hasnt come off the fork that little clip isnt brilliant,chris.
  13. take it off give it a clean and seal it with a bead of silicone i dont think youll get a seal from the outside without taking it off as les said i dont think it will take a lot to distort the cover,chris.
  14. hello my rocker cover leaked ,after cleaning it i applied some silicone and its cured no leaks chris.
  15. ive had an account with boc for about 17 years now not the cheapest but thay now do monthly rental for bottles ive just taken my acectylene back and replaced with propane for cutting as i hardly do any gas welding anymore my oxy is 70 quid a year give or take a couple of quid,propane is free from calor only pay for gas chris.
  16. nice one ive got the da4203 on the rear been on for a few days now lot better on the rear but im looking at eventually putting a winch on the front so im looking at 4202 on the front went up thetford the other week and the rear kept bottoming out on the standard springs, so i put the 4203 on and its a lot better thanks for the offer ive just purchased a spring compressor ,as a ratchet strap was dodgy,hand still hurts,but ill prob go for the 4202 on the front chris.

  18. my 300tdi disco always sat down at the back especially with my 2 dogs in the rear , i recently fitted a pair of new springs giving approx 25mm lift. this has made a lot of difference feels better etc, the rear springs that came off appear to be a reasonably hd pair my question is are these a heavier duty than the front springs which are not as thick and do not have 3 tight turns has any one put rear springs on the front will thay fit and what would happen sit higher/lower views appreciated chris.
  19. no factory filled just put some copper ease on the thread it will make it easier to get apart in the future have you got a ball joint splitter as i have one here if you need to borrow it chris
  20. have you tried speedy hire thay used too or thay may know somewhere other than hilti
  21. i used a brazing torch to heat it up but it was still tight and one side is a left thread and one is right so if your doing one side make sure you get the right thread ill have a look to see what side is a left thread unless someone can tell you before i find out .chris
  22. i use cellulose thinners gun cleaning grade just make sure there is no fumes before you put it back on
  23. got a map today if we take sat nav we will still get lost but the os map shows some by ways through kings etc
  24. have you checked the wheel bearings as this will push the pads away from the disc
  25. what about a needle gun or sometimes called a bag of nails ,we used these for fettling cleaning up castings you probably need nine inches of space to get one in just a thought,chris someone might have a better suggestion.
