  1. The photos for the second auction were taken outside this place https://www.facebook.com/Prestige-hand-car-wash-tyres-309848752680043/ Of course that doesn't mean he's nearby but perhaps it helps Some of the others are taken in Newport near this place http://www.thomsonlocal.com/Chris-Spiteri-Son/101808/01633430006/
  2. They probably don't want their bank account getting closed down by the bank. Be very careful it may however just be a stalling tactic. Also if the funds do get paid back it's not unknown for banks to claw them back again if there is some dispute over where they came from. Last thing, of course keep a close eye on your account as people have managed to get money out of accounts just using sort and account number, Jeremy Clarkson was one famous victim when he gave his out on air.
  3. Mine was on a 110 but I did have to shorten a section of the exhaust to make it fit, I rang them up before doing this and was told it was expected, they allowed extra on one part (can't remember which) so you could get the perfect fit. Give them a quick call, they're helpful.
  4. Action fraud are not likely to do anything to help you, this article from 2 years ago highlighted that http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/personalfinance/investing/11812377/Victim-of-fraud-Why-the-authorities-WONT-investigate.html Have a look at the eBay Vehicle Scam Alerts page on facebook, they have managed to recover quite a bit of money from eBay scammers, they may be able to give you some options for getting your money back from the bank rather than the scammer. https://www.facebook.com/groups/GroupEVSA/?fref=nf
  5. I've got a hydraulic 525 fitted, they are the same as the PTO version other than there is a separate hydraulic motor connected via a short PTO to the winch. I'm pretty certain they sit back further than the H14 does.
  6. It's be a cheap pair of diffs for you That's a Ser-end-very rather than a series .....
  7. Squirt it now .... you know that deep down you really want to
  8. Interesting points smallfry, however in the current non autonomous world what happens when little Jimmy runs out in front of a car or decides to play on a railway? Human drivers can also fail to spot children/people for any number of reasons and it will still be called an accident, why should it be any different for a computer driver? I know that sounds harsh. I won't even mention the number of idiots around here that don't know how to drive past a horse.
  9. Which is why they will ban human driven cars because they are too unpredictable and lead to autonomous vehicles crashing ..........
  10. The autonomous vehicle may well be far less likely to have made the poor choices of a human driver in the lead up to a death or death decision I agree, but what if the situation is caused by one of us human types doing something stupid in an old vehicle (or on foot) that forces the auto into the situation? I'd view that as the most likely reason for this state of affairs to occur. It's an interesting area but I have to concur that it is probably a statistical insignificance that will sell lots of tabloid newspapers.
  11. Geoff, perhaps the simple solution is to have cars that randomly choose who dies in one of these no win situations? Then there is no ethical argument and purely a burden to prove that the PRNG (pseudo random number generator) has no bias, this can be analysed mathematically.
  12. I reckon the mainstream cars that us normal people can afford will start to come with more intelligent cruise control, then we'll end up with cars that are driverless on motorways and fast A roads. After that they'll gradually add capabilities for more complex situations where the option of killing larger numbers of people (especially pedestrians with a death wish) are more plentiful. It won't be a day one release for a consumer car to be driverless in all situations, those being tested are pretty much concept cars aren't they? I'm waiting for riderless motorbikes ......
  13. I visited the office 4 times last month ...... that's 4 time more than in the previous 3 years.
  14. Well not if it's a tinworm hole .... not seen any bad enough to walk through yet
  15. Ah, but that brings up a different ethical problem. To teleport someone you 'simply' identify all the particles in their body as well as direction and speed of movement, then you simply select a set of the same particles at the remote location and reassemble them ....... at this point you destroy the person in the original location.
  16. There are certainly some big names pouring a lot of money into this area ..... I wonder how good it will be and when we'll see it in affordable vehicles?
  17. Just seen this pop up, there will be test autonomous vehicles on the road by the end of the year. https://www.electronicsweekly.com/market-sectors/automotive-electronics/jlr-take-autonomous-vehicles-uk-streets-end-2017-2017-06/
  18. Nice spot ballcock, I'm trying to remember where I got that picture from, I'm pretty certain it isn't one of his. Also neither of the chassis in his photos could legally be tax exempt, they are at least TD5 era but most likely pumas.
  19. Wow the wear on that sleeve is something that I can't imagine could happen silently! :-/
  20. That picture is also interesting Bowie as it appears that a TD5 R380 output shaft is different to the earlier ones.
  21. That wear on the output shaft from a cross drilled gear is interesting, it's interesting because the cross drilled gear I have has longer splines than the wear pattern on your picture shows.
