  1. Excellent! Does this mean you can go and drive now? or do you have to wait for the V5?
  2. I know this is an old topic but I see comments about a settings guide for the r-tech 180. They have one now on their site (also have one for the 250) Here's the link for the 180 @HoSS if you haven't found it in the last couple of years https://www.r-techwelding.co.uk/media/attachment/file/r/-/r-tech_mig180_weld_settings_chart_2017.pdf
  3. I imagine that those steel pipes being clamped directly to the front cross member also aids cooling. Like a big heatsink.
  4. This should take you to the dismantling post in the thread TSD linked to
  5. Also in case you are unaware the Disco sender outputs twice as many pulses per revolution as a Defender one.
  6. Easy enough to do and @TSD has written a script for the raspberry pi that will let you reprogram the mileage yourself (without buying expensive programmers) if you are electronically minded.
  7. A mate of mine lost the cap to his coolant expansion tank, whilst his bonnet was up I noticed it embedded in the sound deadening on the underside of the bonnet He'd obviously taken it off to top up and then left it resting somewhere when he shut the bonnet.
  8. The splines in the arm do wear and then no matter how much you tighten the bugger up it just loosens again. If you don't end up replacing the box because of leaks then try just a new arm. I think the splines wear from having been loose once, then they no longer fit properly and will continue to wear.
  9. Anybody mention about electric car fires and the difficulties in extinguishing them yet? (Lithium ones as opposed to NiMH) I'm curious as to whether this will become a problem or if it is just more noise.....
  10. Cheers for finding that Dave, I mistakenly thought they wouldn't have given an answer out so quickly and hadn't looked. Apologies.
  11. Would this proposal affect people building Ibex's in the future? http://www.vhra.co.uk/VHRA/News/Entries/2018/2/8_IVA_Legislation_Proposal_from_the_DfT.html specifically the emissions and older engines part.
  12. What's with turning Disco 2's into Hummers? Someone did one 3 years ago Not the same one unless it spent the last 3 years driving in reverse ....
  13. So similar to how motorcrossers attack the whoops? Go at full speed and skip over them without going to the bottom of the hole each time.
  14. I know you weren't particularly interested in loose wheel nuts, just wanted to say that sometimes there is little warning. I lost a wheel before on the 110, the wheel hadn't been removed in 6 months and had gone through an MOT a few months before it happened. The only thing I can put it down to was clipping an embankment at very low speed (passing a van down a very narrow country lane) a few days prior to the journey during which it came off. The only warning sign was a small vibration which made me decide to pull over, the wheel came off whilst I was changing lanes to pull over. The dash cam footage shows how little warning there was, and the music wasn't that loud.
  15. Assuming this hasn't been posted before you guys are in for a treat with this special.... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Land-rover-range-rover-off-road-spares-or-repair-defender-discovery-/132465106011
  16. It's PWM driven so it won't be faster but it will retain full torque at all speeds so is much better than a resistor based method which just reduces the supplied voltage (which makes it easier to stall).
  17. and this one compares the OEM system to a Double S showing detail of the bends.
  18. This post has comparison pictures of a Double S exhaust and a Griffin
  19. That's excellent work TSD and if people don't think they are up to soldering the 6 wires on they can purchase one of these instead https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/272804727748
  20. That's excellent work TSD, like you say it can probably be simplified further as well. Thanks for completing the puzzle for us all It's interesting how the graph flips at 4096. How did you come up with the algorithm once you established the pattern?
  21. I had heard that if people pay them a visit they hide, can't remember where I read that though now.
  22. Good on ya Stobbie, if I recall correctly they screwed you over before didn't they?
