My sausage fingers are unlikely to fit in there but it looks like I'm going to have to try

I was driving on the motorway today when the big plastic square bit of the washer jet fell off, there's still a bit sticking out of the bulkhead but it doesn't look broken, it looks like a bit fell off The bit hat fell off bounced on the bonnet then blew off before I could stop. When I buy a replacement does it come in 2 parts so i can just push it back on the bit thats still there because I don't like the look of getting the nut off the back behind the dash

Importing Land Rovers to the UK from EU country
wack61 replied to ronnie_rotten's topic in International Forum
When I bought a new transit from Belgium 10 years ago it had to have a SVA test despite being made in the same factory as most other transits in the uk. Things may have changed in that time butid still check before bringing one over -

I'd have taken the bulb out before spending £1300 -
I'm thinking about getting my van sign written but I can't decide whether to use this guy or not
-
The only way I'd ever spend the kind of money they're talking about for led headlights would be if they came with a 5 year guarantee I just don't believe the claims they all make about how long they'll last

I do that every time I try and start mine

It's a classified ad, he's probably sold it, like I said, I'd at least go and have a look, even speaking with him on the phone would give you an idea of whether you want to view it I've rung up about cars before and decided on the phone not to go and see it One conversation went I'm ringing about the car Which one The Volvo, is it registered in your name No So you're a trader I wouldn't say I'm a trader, I just buy and sell a few cars Right, that's a trader then, bye
-
I assume the 3 owners are the original owner, insurance company and the guy who has it now, anything else would be a bit odd as its less than 2 years old
-
I don't think it can ever be re-registered with anything, so if you fancy changing it to DAZ 1211 you're stuffed Looking through his feedback I'd say he's a breaker but as Defenders are just big meccano sets if I was happy the bits were all legitimate, it drove ok and I was the sort of person to keep it until I died I'd at least go and have a look. It's if you decide you want to sell it the problems will start

The heater in my 300tdi is excellent round town but struggles to keep the 90 hot on the motorway because it gets overpowered by the draughts so that's my next job, I was tempted to buy a can of expanding foam at one point As said above if yours doesn't heat at all there's something wrong with it

I read somewhere, can't remember where but 80k rings a bell though that may have been armoured

One of my summer hobbies is Motorsport photography, mostly at Oulton Park but other than a few windy track days it's pretty much closed down over winter so I'm looking for something else to photograph Is there anything on locally over the next few weeks to keep me entertained This is the sort of thing I usually photograph but something a bit muddier would be good too
-
I'd go with this, I once drove out to a concert, not in a defender, lights worked fine all the way there, came out, nothing, had to drive home on full beam , next morning both bulbs blown, replaced them and they were fine until I sold the car, very odd but it does happen

Winter driving must have on board list..
wack61 replied to verminhunter's topic in Getting out and about
My problems start on the 90 when it's moving, the heater is great around town but as soon as you hit the motorway the draughts overpower it , if your new purchase doesn't have a radio bring a portable one, that's a long drive with no music -
I can only assume that was a stolen disco with a driver on drugs, I can't imagine anyone being stupid enough to do that in their own car

Yet another Ebay bargain.........

Thats probably why it's been re-listed , guy turns up and it's not a defender at all -
County Replacement Decals - Where can I get them?
wack61 replied to ZeroDelta's topic in Defender Forum (1983 - 2016)

What Are the Causes for a Rusty Bulkhead
wack61 replied to ZeroDelta's topic in Defender Forum (1983 - 2016)
All new car manufacturers now e-coat panels and chassis components, it's an electrostatic paint process which when applied is almost impossible to scratch off and rustproof which explains why you don't see modern cars rusting In 1979 my first car was a Mk III Cortina, it was 7 years old, I stopped at a roundabout, somebody behind me didn't and everything under the bumper was a pile of dust on the floor, these days 7 year old cars still look new I'd be very surprised if new defenders weren't e-coated -
I bought a pair of genuine side steps for a 90 from a breakers, when they arrived they were both the same, not a pair, of course they don't have any more but have offered to take them back Before I send them back are the drawings available anywhere , I've given them to an engineering company thinking they could just cut the brackets off and make them a mirror image but having has a look on t'internet they're not the same so they need a drawing They're the 2 runner type same as http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/260914594638?ru=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%3A80%2Fsch%2Fi.html%3F_from%3DR40%26_trksid%3Dm570.l2736%26_nkw%3D260914594638%26_fvi%3D1&_rdc=1#ht_500wt_922 Thanks

A couple of months ago my PayPal account was hacked, they spent 2k, changed my address to one in Florida USA, I emailed the local sheriff at 1am, by the next morning I'd received a reply asking for more details from a detective, within 12 hours they'd been to the address which was a safety deposit box shop and emptied the box and closed it down. This was all done on an email received from a non us citizen, until our police treat every crime seriously stolen land rovers will never be of real interest, it's like they think if it's insured you don't lose out so it's not a priority In the news this week there was a story about a couple that left a B&B without paying, the police were called, took fingerprints etc and traced the culprits who were bought to court, some people were moaning about a waste of resources for a £65 crime but if this is how all crime was treated it might stop petty criminals progressing to vehicle theft and shop robbery with guns

I bought an old English plate from a private seller for £300, 3 letters and 3 numbers, they don't mean anything to me but they make my 15 year old £2,500 Jaguar XK8 look like 20k worth of car now it's not on a P plate If you're just after anything have a look on the free ads sites loot preloved etc, Irish plates are dirt cheap as well , they have a Z in them, usually 3 letters and 4 numbers The comment about keeping the car is right though , that £80 transfer fee gets a bit wearing if you change it a lot
