  4. Si, Your a techno boff i want a small winch to fit on my front axle to winch the suspension down on big hill climbs what size you think i will need to compress the springs 1/2 way say on my tub which weighs approx 1800kg ??????? Thanks Peter
  5. [One day competitions are fast becoming "Whos got the strongest body panels" or "Who cares least about there truck" Fact or fiction..? Discuss Jim what about 3 or 5 day whos got the strongest panel events !!!! Or surely that also mean axles ,gearbox etc as if you can kane you truck into a section & drive it because all the drive train can take it & not winch all day then whats the problem with that surely thats what bull bars & rock/tree sliders are for ????????????????? Argyll 2 days 1 dent !!!! Bryns well enough said
  6. Put what you like i find it amusing just thought maybe its funny for a time though but what ever . Why not change it for another swear word more relevant like ;>>>>>> Open for debate please Comment but the rules are you must have a reason. Like Fat B****d ...... for the obvious reason. etc
  7. was going to ask months back but been to busy writing cheques for parts on the bathtub but whos got the sense of humour about my Avatar or what ever its called. I suppose its the same sad ba***rd that deleats the posts i do that they dont like even if they arnt rude Not pi**ed of just interested in why when you dont let swearing on the forum a moderator thinks its ok to put what is blatently a swear word for all to see instead of at least a clever sarcastic comment or a least some good abuse about something relevant you sad sad lonely probably fat , bald ,skint , homeless , diesel driving 90 Scorpion equiped ,limp dicked flange of a rats turd. Oh yer ya MUM
  8. Thats my point all the handicap systems heavily lean towards the standard cars. That why i think the % score for harder punches is the only way to go . I as well have been beaten by standard Suzukis by quantity of punches as they got as all punchs were worth the same but we started with a huge minus to begin with & with no hard punches we didnt stand a chance , we worked it out later that we needed to get all punches & a standard car only needed to get 20% to beat us !!!!!!!!!!! what the FKUK is that all about
  9. Nige- Thats it your a cheque book offroader know Should of found an old set or got them from ebay Your in Super modified class as well now
  10. Otherwise they can "Bathtub Off" so to speak Here here
  11. Its seems to me that its mainly the Land Rover owners that a crying & scared It seems all the things they want banned or put in another class are the bits that you cant bolt on a SCORPION 90 i.e Portals or Tyres bigger than 36" Funny how in the past vehicles like mine were just laughed at as we never finished or didnt know how the game was played & no one bitched about us Then over the last year or so that a few including me have started to get our vehicles sorted & know how to drive & navigate etc its funny that all this debate has come around I agree that if you build a 1 day play toy thats not road legal then put that in a class. But if its taxed & MOT then it should be allowed to complete in Modified if it has 2 lockers etc & thats it modified is modified all this bollolcks about GPSs, waffles too long too big tyres, portals **** off get a life or just enter in a lower class The events sort the trucks out themselves as Andy T said . As far as im concerned COR can suck my balls its to soft & relys on clues etc to slow you down. As to Muddy truckers great that event again would in my opinion stop trucks {maybe } like Moglite for 1 reason the distances & climate {**** MT in a open vehicle in March}for 3 days navigating for 8 hrs on open moorland only the bog site would Moglite have been an advantage all the rest you could do in a Scorpion 90 no probs as did most people. Argyll again Scorpion 90s were a joke & small Suks just couldnt cope BIG ENGINNES TYRES & AXLES RULED {& i only dented a cage before you start} Moglite or such would of ruled if the driver has the rubbish & determination . CSW good comps the handicap system worked well but it should work both ways & not too in favour of standard trucks if the site isnt harsh enough as for most site a standard truck could do most section without too much trouble then the handicap goes the wrong way {or the water is too deep}. JBS events great but again there should be more points like at Slindon for sections that no-one else does & that equals it out. I personally think the best way to handicap a vehicle is to score each section differently like PW at slindon does but there needs to be enough very hard sections & **** loads of easy If you are a SCORPION 90 trophy hunter then go for quantity easy non-damaging punches. If you are Super mofified then go for the hard punches that have more points but take longer etc ,but the quick easy punches with lots of distance / time between them are worth getting. This to me levels the playing field & up to know worked BUT when the Super modfied trucks & drivers get fast trucks as well which is happening then it all Goes ****s up for SCORPION 90s . I agree with Jim anyway there are only 2 or 3 real events in this country IMHO that are worth doing we will be mainly competing abroad next year as our truck know can ; Run on the motorway at 70mph all day. Hold enough fuel for 2 days . Run bogs ,run sand ,run water ish. Do road / track sections All the navigation toys etc Spare /back up vehicle MOST OF ALL GOT A GOOD BITCH Lastly what ive noticed with events the less BIG names & ones that rely on 4x4 for a living the better the atmosphere is & less bitching & cheating .Argyll was great this year everyone helped out at night repairing truck swapping fuel {yes Jim you too} etc & getting Mildly miffed. Any COR event ive done there was a real bad atmosphere around unless you were part of the clicky club !
  12. Warnes welding UMMMMMM Heard good things about yours ___ axles were mentioned
  13. Mkae sure you ; Plywood glue & screw the floor 1st. Use a waterproofing product like perabond with fibre taped joints as per instructions £250 for 20m 2. Jet wash slate 1st if its dirty or dusty from the quarry. Seal the face side of the slate before laying. Use epoxy adhesives & grout & keep whole floor well sealed regularly !!! If you can give the floor a little fall if possible. Lastly pray a lot for not too much movement
  14. RIM WIDTH Depends on whos just F**k you surley
  15. Jim, You missed ! F**K it they dont get hot anyway well not on mine P.s why does 1 get warmer than the other & when are you getting the new bits & my straight DRUM !!!!! OR fit decent axles & tyres & try driving the 4 wheel drive vehicle thats whats its for !! I know that TDIs are only good for charging batterys but that does take the tiddle if you dont even use the gearbox !!!!! Great clip on your web site i remember driving that section was a bit deep though thought at 1 stage i would have to drop into low box or even get out I think your air cooled is a better idea especially as any liquid in my truck soon raised to around 90 degrees within about 30 mins unless its in the fridge & of course weighs a lots less !!! Cant understand the need for a RAM with pram wheels is it instead of power steering on Pauls truck as its so old that it never had it as standard Maybe thats what put the strain on his heart after all fair play no PAS in Argyll Paul You 2 coming next year or sticking to Club Offroad events

  21. WE work with a few fire alarm companies & service & maintain all there buildings to comply with current regs ,Boots, colleges Magistrates Courts etc. All fire door always must open with the flow of traffic so to speek & MUST not be locked or blocked with debris at all times.{ some can be locked out of working hours etc} Also they must be fitted with a Push type panic bar & most importantly to this you cant buy a opening in panic bar !!!!!!! As for it not being mentioned in the regs etc that doesnt matter as at the moment all risk is to the buildings designated fire officer !!!!!! not the council or fire brigade . Building inspector will only get involved in inspecting new works . Fire brigade will only get involved at the court hearing when you all are dead ! If they have locked the door ask for a revised fire escape plan ! Have they revised the signage & emergency lighting etc.
