  1. Yer ban us all No seriously unless you run a proper series with exact rules on everthing ,from tyres to engine make & size etc like they do in Formula Ford Nascar etc .I cant see how you can fairly police it I seriously think that if someone threw £250k at a truck with race car technology in it but it had straight axles ,35" tyre etc etc there would still be prople calling for that to be banned . You will never win just have different classes & have done with it Even if you like have a O.A.P class with free meal on wheels & CPR special sections Love Bathtub
  2. If you have the money for around £700 Grundfos do a 200l pumped storage tank that will pump every water supply in the house to 3 bar.And the last 1 yes as long as the insulation doesnt get wet in the winter then it might freeze I have run a 15mm main from my house to th pool hse along the outside of the garage & lagged it . It only very occasionaly freezes in the winter & that is on a outside wall . Also watch out for mices eating the insulation
  3. Pump hot & cold but cold from the tank not mains
  4. Alan got twist of piccys or did you shoot the ground again
  5. Is the twist off ramp the same size for Billing as Manby & Eastnor Not that i want a go on my Portal axled truck
  6. Anyone know of a more powerful replacement power steering pump than the one on my V8 serpentine ??? Bolt on would be good Cheque book waiting
  7. Looks good & no budget Can i do mine & borrow the £50Ks worth of machines etc & if you have got some Ali for free ill have that as well !!! It was like watching American Home improvement programmes "today we will make a table" "1st lets go to the CNC machine & run up some American Oak we found in the garden" Sorry to be critical but its hardly a home DIY cheap option for 90% of people.
  8. Look mate you give it the bigun now . Shame your grandad didnt 60 years ago when the Germans ****ed your whole country & your getting Mildly miffed about that pile of ****
  9. I contacted Advantaced Adaptor last year & the seemed to know nothing about a box to fit a 3 speed Any part No etc Thanks Bit late for this project as the underdrive turned up today But would be good for reference
  10. UMMMMMMMMMM !!!!Looked at that but decided that we be the next truck with all Yank bits this seems the easiest option at the moment Ill stick with the 3 speed fridge as its rated to 1200hp as it is .The underdrive is really a easy out solution on this truck
  11. Can anyone see a problem with the following recommodation by Dave at Ashcrofts it seems to be the answer to my problem ?? With 42 " Tyres Unimog axles & a 3 speed auto basically i need an overall gearing increase of 20% in high & low . High is not a problem but low cannot be changed aparantly! So Dave has sujested a Under Drive & run in high range with it engaged as it gives approx the right gearing that i wanted in low range Plus obviously i gain a super low etc. Any worries ?????????? Thanks F***ker
  12. Good luck Jez & crew Maybe 1 day i will be allowed a 2 week pass by the misus
  13. Jim,Were all going up begining May u coming ?????? Peter
  14. Just to add my pennys worth about it. All i can say but i supose it wouldnt be a defence in court for full hydro is that i have had 2 track rods fail on the road & 3 offroad & all with the result of instant loss of steering. If the Hydro springs a leak at say 50mph {not the hose coming off a leak of a decent size} how quick would you loose steering ,plus would it still at least steer in a straight line . NOT just cut across all 3 lanes of the M3 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. I think the point we are all skirting around {although ive just fitted 4 wheel Hydro steer} is we can be as clever as we like until we kill somone & the truck gets impounded Then he who gets the best solicitor wins i supose
  16. OHH were to start Steering - put it this way full hydro almost fitted on front as well no Snapped 2 cables - someone didnt cut out the roller slot big enough Lockers didnt engage properly - got them working at lunch time & then the {welded temporary front shaft} snapped oops Rear steer - Brilliant just got to tweek the pressure up a bit New axles - geometery /articulation , well you could put another 42 on top when fully stretched .just need to change the spring rate on coil overs .New springs turned up as we left the work shop New twin 8274 housing - Seemed to be less powerful .Was it no front wheel drive or the extra weight????? Or i the new housing sapping power ??? As to the rear tyre - In a gully a rock sheared off the valve protector & valve thus twisting the tyre up in a knot around the split rim . We had to split it & fit a new valve Other than that wasnt impressed with the site Poxy little wood by the side of a road 350 miles away could of done that 2 miles down the road . 3 days of self sufficient offroad etc. Being allowed to go to the petrol station & chip shop at night kind of defeated the object really So anyway with all the bits wrong on its 1st trip out then the front shafts breaking we went home for a weekend with the kids & got some brownie points so i could do TAY without getting to much S**T { that plan went s**t up then} Glad you all had a good weekend though . Just too soon for my truck & from what i can make out it turned into a bit of a COR event nothing like last year by all accounts .
  17. Hate to say it but if they are the rules then i think it sounds fair
  18. Why not just fit 4 wheel steer ????
  19. I made mine out of Alloy for strength & light weight & then used stick on Kevlar sheets that your stick on & then heat up .They look very effective its is harder wearing than paint & you dont get the sun reflecting of the bare alloy I did the dash & centre consol etc .
  20. yep thats about the only way it can ever really be fair IMHO as well plus it incourages organisers to put on hard sections .Personaly i would rather do 4 punches no-one else could get & loose than just rush around going for the punch glory just to be able to get back & be worshipped on the web site If you want to build an extreme rig then you want to do some extreme sections & get awarded for it. If you use your daily drive & get safer punches at more quantity then you shouldnt be penalised either & if you get some of the hard ones that Rock on you deserve to win GBMUDS is the only way i think .
  21. Well its your comp so your rules i supose But can you publish a list of what you will penalise against??? Rear wheel steer =5 points Portals =10 points 2 x lockers = 10 points {centre diff lock??} 4 x winches =20 points power steering x 2 ????{read last post}= 10 points 42" tyres -5 points per inch i supose =35 points Coil overs etc / air shocks {read last post} Engine size / super charger / Nitros ??????? Connectable bridging ladders ?? Bead locks ???? Ive never found a penalise system works we have done some comps that we would have to get every punch & a standard Susuki just 20% & he would beat us .Fine if all the sections were really really tough but if say 80 out of 100 were easy with all the same points we would be completely F*** over as we backed off the trailor Or will it be only the bits you cant fit on a TD5 90 then ??????? Your not a friend of Brian Hartley are you ??
  22. Personaly couldnt give a F*** im afraid, what does it matter
  23. Sounds F***K up enough for this poxy country at the moment Well lets bang someone up for 2 years for speeding whislt illegal immigrant & sex offenders walk around Yer ban him . Yer fine him, but he didnt harm anyone ,there are a lot more serious offences just left alone by the police & courts. But i suspect if hes not a home or business owner then they will let him off anyway as it far easier to just F**K tax payers up the ass & let everyone else walk away Yer im not happy with the Police & courts at the moment .But i do my job & pay tax so they should do theres. Oh yer & i got a letter through saying that i am being prosecuted for doing 35 in a 30 !!!!!! He bang me up as well.
