  1. Hi , Ive got a set from Matt Lee in alloy with nylon inner rim .Great the way they work BUT a pig tom assemble you have to start with 6" bolts & end up with 25mm bolts !!!!! Also i dont know if you will ever get them apart again without ****ing the tyre However the set ive got for the Iroks are the bolt on outer type took 15 mins a rim no leaks & peice of tiddle to take a part .Ive run them a 0psi no probs like the alloys & £1k cheaper. What cost you looking at ?????
  2. Thats for that 2 jars of freshly squeexed coming your way Perhaps if you fitted bigger tyres to your zimmer frame you wouldnt need such a big winch !!!! Hey thinking of that why not try the motor off your mobility chair on the winch Or better still twin wheel chair motors With colostomy bags wired up for cooling
  3. Ive never brocken a pro-comp & i think that theres not many people that give them more **** than me. I agree with nige i think you have got your travel a little ****ed up Peter
  4. Paul youn make me giggle Quote: If both winches had performed all weekend Butplug may not have taken the trophy. How many times have you gloated out of the back of your meals on wheels truck about you must finish an event to win it How about up to now 90% on my truck was all experimental & teething troubles but did you hear me bitch about loosing As you well know my front winch died Sataurday am then after repairing it Sat night it died again on Sunday ! Did you not put a spare winch on Saturday night & it work all day Sunday . Come on you wrinkly old tart admit it like i have many times before you got proper F***ed "yes just like de Germans" We beat you by a 3rd didnt we & we wernt late back infact 45 mins early both days & stuck behind Cheviot for 2 hrs helping { UMMMMMMM ! would you of helped UMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!} Perhaps you should stick to COR events were big boys arnt allowed to play & you can winch youself around to your hearts desire "Technically" of course rather than drive a section Come on Paul give us a KIss you might win next time if we break down
  5. Used it on 4 events did very well just needed to sort the charging system out 200amp Premier Power alternator dod the job
  6. Ya Mumma Duramax 7.2 V8 Twin turbo Alloy Diesel UMMMMMMM!!!!!!!! £7K crate engine 800horses 44" Boggers UMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hey 49" Iroks Portal Tec !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Next year maybe this waiting to hear on a contract UMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But seriously i recon £50k & you would never stop it what you recon Chris ??????? Then cheque book Then cheque book Then cheque book Then offroader
  7. Thanks Nige, hate to say it though Bryns motor is TDI But yer baby 340 horse 101 axles 42 " tyres 0 psi in the tyres external cage & away you go & play bouncy bouncy with the trees . Hydro assist was awsome i handed steering whilst winching & steering box is intact . The new internal soft top didnt even loose a popper The 200amp PPW alternator {140maps at 2k revs} & 2 yellow optimas kept up all day with 2 60amp fans , 2 30 amp fans ,windscreen fan ,car electrics & twin motor 8374 run flat out all day & the voltage didnt drop beloe 12.5 V best £500 i spent {last cheque} Phuh portals whats the point if you run Simex tyres Next year hopefuly ive have the Portal Tec axles on & 44s but im waiting for a new cheque book at the moment But seriously the difference this time was 1 we finished the event & 2 the event was tough enough to kill silly little motors running girly axles & tyres .Some sections were 2-3 hr plus & 1 km long & when there like that a big winch on a small car just doesnt make the mustard you need to be able to drive lots of it & be willing to use the loud pedal & not worry about CVs etc i used £90 in petrol in 6 hrs & Bryn did £50 in diesel we were flat out all day The only damge on my truck this time was a dent on the cage & no reverse on the twin 8274
  8. Ill leave 101 on this truck . But the new one will run Portal Tec & 44 Boggers .Wont get portals on my truck & still fit & perform how i would like
  9. Cant you get some from the social security claim under the winter fuel allowance
  10. Sorry Paul but couldnt resist ive took enough **** the last few years Dont i remember that you said on this very forum that you would retire the day we beat you ????????? Dont worry i wont hold you to it
  11. Congratulations to Butplug (sp?) and Bryn! Thanks old timer must agree great event Like you had problems mainly with teams in the way got stuck behind Cheviot for 2 hrs & had to help them out of the section {good blokes though we had a laugh} . blew my front winch sataurday lunch time so had no winch pm .temporary fixed it sat night & it lasted until about 2.00pm Sunday {good job we didnt need the winch as much as some teams } Finished 4.30 Sataurday as section 14 {the one no-one drove last year or no-one else this year } was our next & as we dont go around ANY section we new we wouldnt be able to complete in time so we returned to base ready to start 14 on Sunday !!!! Well F**K me sideways what a section it must of been about 1 km long half of it was up a rock face & gully & the other half a nearly vertical 400 m winch down with rock steps . In the middle was what i could inly discribe as a V-Gully on its side in granite on a 45 degree slope with a 10ft drop into it.{post some piccys later } I spent so long on the nose of the truck that the pistons filled with oil & when i drove out of it we had to remove the plugs & clean the oil off ! Well that section took 2 1/2 hrs {PLUS WHAT thwack RAN OUT OF FUEL } but it was the best section i have ever done & made the trip to Argyll worth it that alone Section 10 we got a warning from the marshal a bit tongue in cheak because by the time he had driven to the exit we had completed it & were on the way to 11 B) lucking another marshal saw us drive it ! 10 minutes the quickest section of the weakend for us . But we did leave a few ruts Sorry guys. Got stuck in section 18 behind another team but not for too long the only problem was they stopped the momentum & had to slow down thenm we grounded out & had to winch the last 200m. Anyway it shows pauls right i guess you do need to complete it to win it ! the 1st we completed we won ,who knows next time we might finish again!!!!!! Thanks to the Argyll team of organisers and marshals for laying on a cracking event. I’ll be there next year!
  12. How many times have you done the Dragon { not the missus }
  13. Fitted a 3 metre 88mm tube to my 5.0l TVR engine . Mark Adams said when i asked him that he has never found any differnce on a rolling road no matter how long it as long as its the same size as the air box
  14. How many time have we done it on the Dragon Trphy alone i wonder!!!!!!
  15. If you didnt run those stupid F***ing Simex pram wheels you could of driven up that without waffles you c***
  16. Alan, When i do it will be Portal tec. with D60 centres. Jimbo , The auto main seal blew today ,the rear locker is shagged & ive just been knocked for 20k by a client so good day so far. But it could be worse i could drive a 90 Ps your tent or mine on friday. Dont fancy Paul his Sphincter is too old & dried up
  17. Hey take it from someone thats got one of Jimbos twin motor winches that it does work I hadnt run an 8274 on the front for a few years & the 1st time i tried it was at Muddy Truckers & wasnt convinced to begin with about its power! But it was still F*** fast compared to the G12 when putting the cable on & off. But Byrn was already convinced The 2 nd time i used it there was a full lenght pull up to a tree at 60 Degrees ish & both vehicles could winch up the same time to get the punch well i was winching back down by the time that Bryn new 8274 50 gave up & needed a snatch block The only thing i found is that i need to run a 2nd power cable to the batterys from the twin albrights not 1. And i just ordered a 180 amp premier power welder alternator that continuously rated & puts out 120ampos at 2000rpm apparantly. Personally dont ant to go 24v yet .
  18. Ps: Pete, can't wait for the AFC, you poofing it? or camping?? Camping why you want me to POOF it with you big boy
  19. I think a lot of you are missing the point or conveniently going around it about Portal!!! In this country on Challenge events 90 % is i agree knowing your truck & driving it well thats why most of the top 4 teams are running +2" & simex & still doing well . But thats on the current comps that most sections are either punches & if you have to winch the last 10ft to it so what team work etc wins over the 2 mins lost winching. Or special sections about 200yds long max with a 20 -30 min time allowance & the same points whether driven in 2 mins or winched in 20. However B) Get up a Tommys in bottomless mud with section 1/2 mile long with the same rules & see what Portals big axles & load of power does. Or as Jez will tell you a forest sestion 4 Km long with deep ruts & tree stumps just between the sections & see if Simex & winching as a good team will help. Must of you know me & ill be the 1st to admit we had / have a lot to learn about challenge comps in this country & yes i dont mind spending a few quid on the truck. Yes we havnt won a major event yet finishing would be nice BUT whose the won that drives the sections most drive around or fail on EVERYTIME not just when the points count! JBS special section Muddy truckers we did the bog site on our own & we drove in 11 mins a section no-one else did & 2 other sections in the top 3 fastest time. AFC last year we were 1/2 point below Paul Wightman & we had a full lenght RRC & no rear winch on it ! Imagine for a minute AFC but a bit bigger maybe Mine or Jez truck with an experienced team no break downs & how far in front do you think it would be to the 90 on Simex guys !!!!!!!!
  20. Ive got some if you need it Jim
  21. Or even just plug the fuel pump wire back in when you change the ECU Also depends on what state the trucks in after Argyll
  22. Put me down please ! No deep puddles this time
  23. Hi, Its Phil at GBR isnt it ????? Hes said on friday arb have done them know but it would probably take about 1 month to get them here. Want to buy a detroit????? im just getting rid of it as its making steering harder around the forest sections Just ordered a 180amp alternator from him though
