  1. Well that will only make HumVee's with their auto tyre inflation much more attractive
  2. FYI Invision Power Board v2.1 was released yesterday so we are just getting our new server upgraded to this before we do the test transfer of data. Meantime we've been playing with the installed v2.0.4 which seems to have several new features (like threaded views and a Lo-Fi option for limited bandwidth) over our current 2 year old copy of IPB.
  3. I think Tony's best at answering this one but as a guide we've paid (about) £20 for the domain for a couple of years and about $250 (£140) for a years hosting. Hopefuly we've got the sizing right (30Gb/month) as more traffic will push our costs up. Something we will need to consider before we enable attachements. HTH
  4. As I understand it you can delare to Customs and Excise your are using bio fuel and just send them the cheque for the duty on however many ltrs of oil you've used. I think this is some 20p p ltre against the 40+p per litre we pay on diesel. As long as your return seems appropriate to your millage and trucks mpg you'll not likely be troubled and can still make a good saving while staying the right side of the law.
  5. Tought it was busy Sunday. Thought maybe it was just cos the pricing was good
  6. Couldn't even get in myself Anyway all sorted nowm, running nicely on the www.LR4x4.com address and for those watching developments our new provider is just about ready for us to start practising the migration. And Tonk, what you going home for. Aren't there some bearings that need pressing on a certian diff
  7. JMF, welcome to LR4x4. I'd suggest you just turn up for this one. The Shire's are a friendly bunch and I don't think there are too many rules for this event, You can probably run as a team of two or even three. I did the last one solo with my daughter (8) as winch bitch though we only used the winch to assist others If you want ateam mate I'm sure you will be able to team with someone when you get there.
  8. 'Admins' Mand, there's four of us. Same ol' Trev though, just trying to help and a mugs fine
  9. keep em comming guys. Can't promise to do fix any of them just yet but will certainly look to see what we can resolve once we are settled onto the new server.
  10. Hi Motorhead, glad you dropped in for this move we are just after stability and continuity for our members who have had enough to put up with over recent weeks. Looking further ahead we will need to consider if IPB is adequate for our needs and if not which BB package is the most suitable. I wouldn't want to see any changes in the next six months but would welcome your views/input when we do come to consider the options.
  11. Not that one (I that the one FS on Tomcat's web site?) but if you want to see a build this has lots of pics.
  12. Here' one of our's having excercise.....
  13. As many of you know we are struggling here at present with our current hosting provider and their servers. But we are working to fix it A contract is now in place with another provider and we are currently getting the servers configured. We hope to be able to do a test transfer of the forum early next week and if all goes well do a final transfer shortly after. We intend to change as little as possible with this move and will be sticking with the Invision Power Board software (but will move to the current release) that we have all been getting to grips with since we all moved to this bolt hole. The forums new url's LR4x4.com and www.LR4x4.com will continue to work and will point to the new home when the final transfer is made. I and the other admins will try to keep you updated as things progress and just ask for your tolerance in the meantime.
  14. James, 285/75x16 is a very common size esp amongst the bigger jap 4x4s so there lots of choice for ATs. Eyore, good to know you can get away with 6.5" rims. 8" is the min recommended by BFG but I was hoping to fit them on my old 7" white spokes.
  15. Result I only remove mine one at a time. Less chance of things moving to far out of line before its refitted. If you can get access to a press to fit the bushes go for it. Had to drill and chisel out the last set and it was a lot of work. Well worth some beer money IMHO. When refitting I find a scissor jack very usefull. Get the arm roughly in place and the rear bush/nut on. Then positon the front of the arm using the jack. Be carefull to fit the bolt in the first hole to reach horizontal allingment (if that makes sense) as you can then use the jack to push the arm up further to get the second bush to the right height.
  16. Thought today what about forum 'business cards' Just little cards we could stick under the wipers of likely land rovers not already wearing the official forum sticker.
  17. more from scorpion these and the rovertyme ones look good to just get that moderate extra inch or two.
  18. Moved here and like it. I'm staying (well except when I sneak a look at P4x4)
  19. Must admit air filters don't seem very expensive and they're easy to change (and easier than messing on cleaning them). Tend to just change mine out every year usually pre mot to help the emmisions.
  20. not a man to do things by halfs our Tonk.
  21. Did the disco's a week or two back. Fortunately the bolts came out after being soaked in WD40 over the previous days. Anyway, could you get in there with a junior hacksaw? Slow and tedious but its helped me out before.
  22. Now that is funny. Its hard to imagine Nige tackling anything in a way that requires LESS fabrication
