  1. If shorting the terminals doesnt appeal to you, you could always just use a multimeter. If you set it to dc volts, and put one lead on the motor cable and the other on a earth point and then use the winch. If you get 12v it means the solenoid works, If you dont get the voltage it dont work
  2. Heres the best pictures that i took, including a few at the wheel waggling point seen in the vids, Dan
  3. It was a lovely day out, the sand was quite interesting in places. and yes my prop did go ping shortly after leaving, they do make a hell of a bang when they strike the underside of the floor, I will hopefully post some pics up in the next few days
  4. This may be a slighlrt bizzare comment, but are you sure its the intercooler and not the aircon radiator? Just thought i would mention in case you go off barking up the wrong tree. . .
  5. Dont forget there is all the fuel sediment filter to change/ clean. Its near the rear drivers side shock
  6. I thought that the disco 2 was a longer wheelbase than the disco 1, A RRC IS 100" whiole a disco 2 is 107 ish?
  7. I ordered my marix tyres from uptotheaxles.com Fast service, and very nice prices, Dan
  8. Yep they are lovely bits of kit. IMHO it is swapping the handbrake cable at the same time if it slightly worn or sticky. but x-brakes are awesome. Havent had a problem since i fitted mine
  9. I would just like to add my thanks to the Marshalls for a great day out. Also I would like to say a big thank you to the Marshalls who helped me out of the bog right at the end of the day, that's the last time I listen to jcwcooper :-) dan
  10. You really are a brave person wearing shorts, but if you see a green disco with blue front doors gimme a wave, i will be more than willing to transport you around the site for photographic purposes
  11. It depends on how hi-tech you want to go, I just use walking gps system it's gives you a 10 figure os grid reference, which you then look up on an os map. It also can also do cumulative total and way points when needed. Dan
  12. This may sound slightly obvious, but is it difflock? otherwise the centre diff will be spinning away. and the nut wont come off,
  13. Do you have the standard temperature gauge still? they are rather vague on a good day, so i would recommend installing an aftermarket one that reads in degrees centigrade. Also have you not tried a raditor muff, cover? especially on cold days like this it should keep the engine warm, and reduce time needed to warm tyhe engine up
  14. yep, just have a quick check make sure the radiator is secure, as a viscous fan can quite easily eat through your radiator
  15. There is usually a selection on ebay. or you could just get a mate with a mig welder to uprate a standard one.
  16. If youve got the time its probably worth wasihing the radiator inside and out as well. you will be amazed at what comes out. Im only saying this because as you will already have done most of the strip down work to remove the radiator when you take out the radiator
  17. Bring on the gauges, it makes like a big kid, when you have lots of gauges and dials all over the place and what gauges were you planning on getting? Ive got one for temperature and one for volts, and they lovely. especially in a tdi has it runs at exactly 78 degrees all day long
  18. If possible get an assistant to turn the key whilst you hit with the hammer, with a bit of luck it should fire up, otherwise it gets a bit tedious and comical, When your trying to hit the starter motor and turn the key at the same time, 'cos trust me you cant Ive tried Dan
  19. These cards are a godsend, theyre not too good on name brand products such as hammerite and haynes manuals only £1 off, but Halfords own brand items are a lovely price now e.g 1litre brake fluid goes from 10 quid down to £3 They are well worth it, if you can blag one, or find a mate with one
  20. Hi All Ive managed to acquire myself a nice shiny pair of 300tdi headlights, but they came with no locating lugs, what Im after is confirmation of the part number before I obtain some. I believe that they are stc 1232, here clicky and can someone please confirm if that is the right part number, and how many I need, I presume 2, Dan
  21. Hi All In the next few days Im am about to start my 300 light conversion, but whilst checking over the parts I spotted that on the back of the headlights, theres no locating lugs on the back of the headlights, My question is what part number do I need to order and how many? I presume its 1 per light, but you never know with landrovers at time So far in my research ive come across these: clicky but are they the right ones? or do i require something else? And dont worry, once the parts are sorted I will post up a few how to photos, Dan
  22. Another objection has just been made, Ive also received the confirmation email say thanks, you vote will be counted
  23. Fingers crossed I will be there, Hopefully I wont blow up my diff like last time
  24. Have you considered ebay? Just have a little look, every now and then, but make sure you have a tape measure in front of you, to ensure you know exactly how big they are. Dan
