  1. i'm getting near nigh 0.9bar boost at the inlet manifold on mine, if it helps. yours - just got a boost gauge!
  2. you've made a grave error, the series front axle was never meant to be driven on hard tarmac. hence why a series is PART TIME 4wd. Wehn you lock the diff to make the vehicle move you are causing wear to the front axle and the steering knocking is not the steering box it is the UJs kicking inside the axle as they transfer the drive. A coiler is FULLTIME 4wd and will have both axles powered when on tarmac, central diff unlocked. If I were you, i'd be looking at rebuilding the front axle and converting the LT230 to PART TIME 4wd. i'd also give myself a slap round the head!
  3. sounds to me like you need to strip the front axle and look for damaged Ujs on the front halfshafts. does the steering wheel kick going around corners?
  4. is this any help? http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/show...8169&page=1
  5. ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHH [Nige] You know what I actually echo Steve's thoughts, on every forum you come across as a complete [edited]. you've just backed up in the above quote too
  6. tonight a mate is buying a disco, but the bloke won't let it go with the alloys, fair enough we can chuck on some old 205's on defender steels we thought. But i think the studs are different and it might not work can anyone confirm? Disco 200tdi
  7. that'll teach you for giving it large!!! (things always gone wrong when I'm at my cockiest! ) Forgot to add earlier, my engine is standard, rebuilt by me with the timing set around 2degrees more advanced than factory standard. My old Mum's 110 (70k since new and quiet as a whistle) will achieve around 85mph.
  8. thanks to Richards for being helpful and a big thumbs down for Marslands who clearly don't like selling things.
  9. my 90 does about 90mph pedal on the bulkhead. not particularly nice either. 70 seems just right on 235 85
  10. er, thanks I am talking about the metal part welded to the chassis that those rubbers bolt into. Also accoridng to my manual they sit 4degrees off horizontal, lower towards the gearbox cross member. Not a bad idea Matt, will give them a bell.
  11. BVush 65, I would be very interested, currently twisting a chaps arm to give me the turbo off his knackered 2.8
  12. does anybody know if it is possible to purchase the chassis part of the setup? I have a chassis minus engine mounts and although I could fab up the mounts I'd much rather buy some and weld them on. Does anybody know who sells them if they are available? Cheers
  13. I've got the 5" Terra Firma's cracking kit they be.
  14. that is ****ing upsetting, especially seeing as it was a really nice landy I dare say nobody was in it when it was rolled, and whoever did must of had another vehicle waiting to remove the parts they took. I suspect with a little police interest they could solve this one.
  15. should mention washing the casing out after!
  16. 1996 300tdi 90, 139452 miles, I rebuilt the engine at @ 131000 and she's been faultless since. to be fitted with galv chassis and x arms in the next few months.
  17. ****sake. really sorry to hear that John, lovely motor it looked too. eyes pealed etc, baseball bat in the back if i see some ***t with it
  18. 9/10 times it's the drive dowel....
  19. I'm looking for somebody to make me some custom pistons, just wondering if anybody on here knew of a compnay and had experience with them. Cheers
