  1. I am thinking of fitting some axle check straps to my 90. I recently fitted X-arms and springs, with 11" shocks. It rolls a bit more on corners than before and I can feel the spring lifting off it mounts I think check straps might be a good idea when using the vehicle on the road Anyone know of a decent supplier? Cheers
  2. rot on bulkhead/chassis and a poorly done engine installation.
  3. I think the output has not been greased well, though some is present. Will try looking at the meshing later, thanks Les!
  4. I cannot remove the gear carrier from the box, I've removed the steel cover plate and aluminium bearing retainer, but the gear will not budge off the splines. Any ideas? I've now dropped the box from the car and had planned to soak it in diesel and try a bit of heat.
  5. i just read the same article for how to remove the box!
  6. had exactly the same problem on my old 300. Worn followers, tappets were never set right and knocking when idling for too long. Rest of the engine was perfect.
  7. Same here, seatbelts ordered thurs @ 4pm arrived in South London at 3pm next day ready for fitment and a weekend's taxiing mates to football. yours - still finding beer bottle tops.
  8. I've always had to provide both on my 1957 motor and prewar motors.....
  9. Sorry to dig up an old one, but I am going to fit two rear bench seats to my 90 for a trip this weekend. I have confirmed with my insurers that this will be fine and I am covered. However I am unclear if I need seat belts fitted? Both passengers in the back will be adults.
  10. NFU wouldn't touch a modified vehicle. And their quote was unrealistic.
  11. blocked air filter? collapsed intake hose?
  12. X-eng one is pretty good, looks similar.
  13. I've plumbed a boost gauge off the back of the inlet manifold and am getting around 0.8- 0.9bar so about right accounting for losses in the intercooler and hoses. To be honest I am loathed to go messing with it, the engine runs so well since i rebuilt it, and it produces no smoke whatsoever. My local garage (AJS who MOT'd it) couldn't believe how well the engine went.
  14. So if i plum this little device into my turbo, I can tune the boost for 1 bar at the inlet manifold.
  15. more bits for the bin then! Cheers.
  16. The disco I'm breaking had what appeared to be a needle valve with a hole in the bottom of the body fitted to the wastegate boost pipe is this a dump valve? I've read elsewhere that fitment of a dump valve can help reduce turbo lag and improve spool up How true is this?
  17. I want to add, that when I bought Gwyn's shock mounts earlier this year, he pushed the Terrafirma product as it was the best ratio between price and performance. I feel gutted for him, without people like Gwyn we end up going nowhere in terms of development. gwyn supplied my shock mounts tacked together and I finished the welding. Another good reason to buy from him over Terra****ter. Yours - tearing those big stickers off his shocks later.
