  1. I realise you're only after isolating switches, but bear in mind the switches you've linked to won't cut the engine if you turn them off whilst it's running. Gordon
  2. Our local tractor place had all the fittings in when i made my lines. Metric i think went into the hp22, but i'm sure another hp22 was 1/2" bsp. G
  3. Find a helmet on ebay ? you're not doing comp safari / xtc so doesn't have to be an all singing all dancing one
  4. We use these : http://www.peltorheadsetsales.co.uk/peltor-lite-com-headsets.html Com Lite II's Or one of them and then an intercom helmet with a radio connected to it. We've got a motorola hand held that plugs into the helmet and a PTT button on the steering wheel G
  5. 1/8 bsp for axles isn't it ? same as gearbox and tf box. G
  6. James (co driver) uses peltor com lite II headset.... they can be set to voice activate In the truck i wear a helmet, so have a PTT button on my steering wheel and i plug the helmet into a radio fitted in the cab. I've not been able to get the voice activation to work on my radio Programmed to the same freq's as the peltor's. If i don't wear a helmet, we have another headset to use instead. Not cheap (the motorola lead cost me £130!)... but very good G
  7. We'll be there for our first HW if Neils got my entry G
  8. i've had 2 nicked now i have 5 locks on it, 5 rsj's and about 25 bags of cement to make concrete and it's out of site G
  9. Cheers. Unfortunately it's not quite as simple as that. I am making an auto sequence thingy, that can be cancelled by a number of switches...but only switched on by one. The ebay bloke is quite helpful and going to make something else into it Regarding delays etc. G
  10. Morning, I'm looking for a latching relay that : * When i push a button switch it'll energise a circuit * This circuit will stay complete even if i let go my switch * Have another pin on the relay so that when i give that 12v, it'll de-energise I've found Durite 0-728-02, which operate the same as VWP's : http://www.vehicle-wiring-products.eu/VWP-onlinestore/relays/relays.php But these are no good for me as both the on & off are via the same pin. This might do the trick, but i'm looking for a simpler way http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120611987309&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT Any suggestions ? Cheers Gordon
  11. Araldite or CA glue. Used with an activator CA is extremely useful and quick drying. I used to rebuilds speakers for people they're completely stuck together with CA and when it comes time to clean the ally basket up you end up taking a layer of ally of with the glue. G
  12. This bloke has 4L80's...then get some danas cos you'll probably be needing them hehe ! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CHEVROLET-CHEVY-4l80E-AUTOMATIC-GEARBOX-4X4-V8-PICKUP-/370419693888?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM G
  13. Why.... well, i want to run a stat as it means that my engine will not run too cool too long when starting up etc. I've contemplated running no stat as well and blocking off the heater circuit (i don't have a heater matrix, just looped the pipes) - but it works fine as it is now so haven't bothered. The reason i chose a 74 was so that it opened as as possible. I know that there is no chance my engine will run at 74 in my setup so am not worried about that. With it running at 83ish, i'm more than happy that it's not too hot nor too cold. 9 out of 10 times my truck will be doing < 20mph and probably in low range so it's never gonna run cold My fans come on at these temperatures as they're the lowest (easiest) ones i could find that would work for me. The sender is screwed into the thermostat housing, where an aircon sender would normally go. I think it's the same sender that Simon uses in the x-eng setups - i think he advises to mount the sender in the bottom hose (i.e. after it's been through the rad). I'm running twin peugeot fans (i think ) and if i switch both fans on and leave them running i can drop my temp to below 74. Remember i have 3 little holes drilled in my stat to allow water to circulate through the radiator even without the stat being open. I also have a big ally radiator Nige - you asked, i answered HTH G
  14. 74 degree thermostat details, they don't come with gaskets for the RV8 so get them seperately : I run one in mine, have drilled a couple 4mm holes to help bleeding and have a rear mounted rad with standard water pump. My temp sits quite happily at about 82 - 85 My first fan kicks in at 83 and have never had my second fan come in (about 90ish). Only ever used offroad.
