Nice work, getting wheels to run true is not easy!

Drill the holes for the TR15 valves as most tubes that size only have the fat stem. Also you can then use bolt in valves if going tubeless.

Thanks

Converted the rims to tubeless quite a while ago. Agreed going to drill for 15 mm as existing holes are 18.5 mm

7.08 isn't *too* bad, it's almost exactly what my Volvos were before I swapped ratios.

With the 1:1 LT230 (as I run) and 36-ish tyres it's revvy but not a million miles off a stock Defender on 205's and low ratio is

Did you forget this............

Will be changing transfer box ratios regards Stephen

The thread's up to page 46 and I've slept since then, so yes I did forget this! :SVAgoaway:

I forgive you ........

Don't really want to go too big on tyres, not after a monster truck, just want to be able to drive tracks that are too deep due to the trend for larger tyres in the last few years, the portals will help with that due to the increased ground clearance under the diffs regards Stephen

Looking good, how far are you mounting this all to the car?

Daan

Good question, part of my problem is winter, realistically I could start dismantling sid the roach in a couple of weeks, however if we are going to get snow then March and April are usually our worst months and as sure as eggs is eggs it will snow if I rip it apart.....

So I'm looking at getting every thing sorted so it is more or less ready to hit the ground running at the beginning of May

What's left to do before I dismantle ?

Finish off the other rims

Forge a new steering arm( need to make a forge first )

Make one link chassis cross member

After dismantling

Chassis to clean up and strengthen as required

Rear chassis suspension mounts to make (6 mm instead of 3 mm )

Rear coil spring mounts to move back a wee bit

Install transfer box from @Ed Poore ( timeline involved now Ed )

Sort out body work

Fit new seats

Sort out any unforseen issues with fitting axles

I'm sure I will have missed several things out regards Stephen

Have mounted rim onto axle to see what clearances are like

track arm with radius arm mounted, it would go further with a wee tweak but turning looks good enough so might make this my steering stop point
