ROGUE TROOPER
I need to pull the Hybrid into the garage (As well as other things) but need an anchor point that will take the draw pull of a rolling RRC chassis with Engine and box, so I can pull it into the garage. Anyone know of one that is "off the shelf"? Thanks
miketomcat
you could try a motorbike ground anchor use for locking a bike in your garage not tested for pulling but most are very secure ie 4 M10 rawl bolts mike
ROGUE TROOPER
Yes, but they are more for security rather than being pulled!

jamesm
How about screwing something like this into the floor?
LandyManLuke
I pull my project RR in and out of my garage regularly using a 240v winch. Its bolted to a scaffold pole which is bolted to the floor via brackets. I used 4 12mm expanding studs for concrete, and some ~4mm steel for the brackets. miketomcat
still i reckon you would have trouble pulling one out of the ground failing that why not just rawl bolt a bit of 10/12mm plate down with a hole big enough for a shackle might need to put a bend in it to clear the floor nothing a big hammer won't solve mike
freeagent
depends how thick the concrete is really... as mike said, easiers way is a bit of plate, bent up at one end with a hole for a shackle... bolted down with 4 x M12 rawl bolts... flatback90
what i have is a hole in the floor at the back and i use one of them big galvanised eyebolt/hinge things off the big galv farm gates you know the bit that goes thru the gate post. add a shackle and swing away pulley works a treat for me
ciderman
I have one of these in the garage ,for pulling the 90 in if its dead , also hndy for locking the kids bikes to. Its an anchor iron from a BT manhole, Just dig a hole where you wnt it and bury it upto the flat plate in concrete. Very strong. Its made from 25mm solid bar and galvanised. Guest diesel_jim
At the top of the drive when i was at my parents place, i just hammered in one of the military ground anchor pins. right in and stuck a shackle through the eye at the top. worked a treat, and as it was in the grounds so far, you could pull slightly "up" on it as well. Orange
http://www.saundersonsecurity.co.uk/acatalog/PJB510_b.jpg not the work bench EH James How about one of these mounted through the back wall of the garage* with a spreader plate on either side?? That way you can mount it at a reasonable height so you are only pulling the fixing in a horizontal direction... This also means that there isn't a lump of metal sticking out of the floor for you to fall over when the car isn't in the garage *Assuming the back wall of the garage is accessible and does not form the wall to the living room!! rtbarton
Sink about 1m of steel pipe into the ground, get another piece of pipe to slide inside it so about 100mm sticks above the ground. Fasten a shackle to the inner tube.
Mark90
*Assuming the back wall of the garage is accessible and does not form the wall to the living room!! A mate put up some heavy duty shelves and a work bench in his garage, all securely fixed to the wall. His missus wasn't pleased when she came home to find loads of holes and brick dust all over the living room wall

FridgeFreezer
If you put a floor anchor in, make sure you put it in a spot where you can trip over it, stub your toe on it, and kneel on the bolt heads easily In other words, I'd try to recess something into the floor. Thanks all, some good ideas, but im going with Oranges idea. I have obtained some thick steel chequer plate, so will do that as its the cheapest easiest option. All I need now is a hook!! Luckly the back wall is not attached to the house Thanks
