Seat recommendations please?

Anybody got some good advice on what seats will fit into a 90?

My OE ones are a bit tired now and I want to replace them with something a bit more supportive for offroading but which ones fit with the littlest amount of modifying? I have seen on here about Rover 220gti ones but you try finding some!!

Im not worried about battery access as Im going to modify that anyway.

Neil,

I put escort RS Turbo ones in mine, very comfy (for a 90 driving position anyway), I just bolted some steel to the runners and bolted the steel to the seatbox. Another option a friend has done is Discovery 200TDi seats, they also went in quite easily. On both of these the batteries were relocated to the back though.

If you want to do the RRC 2nd row thing I won a complete set of seats on ebay yesterday. I only wanted the front seats so you can have mine if you want.

Don't want anything for them.

Thanks very much for the offer Dave but I have a cubby box fitted and dont want to lose that so wont be going with a bench seat idea.

Maybe take a mooch around a scrappy, armed with a tape-measure, and peer into the weirder cars to be found there. I recently drove an Izuzu Piazza (The 80's on wheels, but rwd, and a 2L turbo, and suspension by lotus  ) and if they weren't brown veloo-err, the seats would have been pretty good in a landy.

Typical aint it, up till last year my neighbour had 1 of them rusting away on his drive but got rid of all his junk to a scrappy along with about 3 other cars. Dont think Ive ever seen one of those Piazzas on the road.

Me neither, this one's the only one I've ever seen. Goes like the proverbial off a garden implement too... The guy wants £755 for it, and I must say that I was sorely tempted. It also has the coolest dash I've seen in a while - movable sides to the binnacle house all the switch gear, not a stalk in sight. It's a bit weird being in an auto with a turbo, but the torque converter lets the engine get into the boost, then you get a quite disconcerting linear acceleration, until everything becomes a blur... :D
