CwazyWabbit
I imagine this is the 300tdi van you have just bought sammyb? If it is I'd give it a good look over first, when I first got my 300tdi it wouldn't pull very well at all..... once I fixed the leaking manifold gasket, replaced the broken manifold studs and sorted the boost pipe to the injector pump it became a different beast. Anyway what I'm getting at is make sure it's running properly first then follow the tuning pdf that reb78 posted
sammyb
I haven't picked it up yet, needs a few jobbies doin first an i can't afford to tax it straight away Ill get a load of pics up when i get it tho

Afterwards it would pull hills in 3rd that beforehand needed 2nd. Quite impressed for these simple changes.
sammyb
decat an egr blank make that much of a difference? I know its not going to be a rocket ship
CwazyWabbit
That'll depend on if the egr was working perfectly before it was removed, which it's unlikely it would be, so removal does make a good improvement .... worth cleaning all the sludge out of the inlet manifold that it will have put there over the years to ..... jad
Does anyone know if you can get any different cams for the 2/300? I thought I had read about one from http://www.automotivecomp.com/ but I may have made that up.....
vulcan bomber
Does anyone know if you can get any different cams for the 2/300? I thought I had read about one from http://www.automotivecomp.com/ but I may have made that up..... A different cam wont do much more than move your torque up the rev range. More power wise you need intercooler bigger, better turbo and pump mods that involve rebuilding the injector pump, not adjusting the screws on it. Disco-Ron
When i first got my 300/90, i struggled to get it to do even 55mph on the way home, mind you, it was ex national trust and had only done 300miles in a whole yr! After much hard use, and fiddling, even with the same gearing and same size tyres, it'll now pull just about three figures........... on a track of course........ mind you, thats not to say that its nice to drive that quick! sammyb
3 figures, you brave brave boy! i **** out at 72mph in my old 90 lol
nicks90
i managed 95mph indicated once in my 300tdi 90 - on a slight downhill, on a private test track that we affectionately call the M1... it was terrifying.
CwazyWabbit
Lol, it's scarier getting to 70mph in my 300tdi 110 than it was doing more than double that on my GSXR1100 ..... although maybe that's just old age kicking in
reb78
My 110's as smooth as can be as it heads towards three figures. It will happily cruise at 85 with the OD engaged and is quite comfortable to drive at that speed.
gsr341
can get my 90 on 35" fedimas to just over 75mph with just a pump tweek , made a massive difference to my car
