Frax
Hi what is the best wiper blades for a Defender, I am not sure what ones I have fitted but they only seam to clear the window on the back stroke and the rubber seams a bit hard, I have seen lots for sale with single blade to three blade types. Just wondered what you boys would recommend
stuck
I don't know about "best" but I got a pair of Trico blades from Nige. Certainly miles better than the Flebay / Halfrauds stuff. HTH
Frax
Does Nige sell these or do I do a hunt for Trico blades
stuck
Nige sells them as part of a washer jet upgrade (2nd item down) on this page: http://www.megasquirt-v8.co.uk/diff_offroad.php Sure you could get them elsewhere if you don't fancy his kit. Retroanaconda
I tend to get Bosch ones from the motor factor. Seem to work okay to me.
Frax
Thanks for that, got a set for £9.45 delivered Think the ones I have are Bosch and they have just gone hard.
need4speed
Ive noticed that with Bosch lately. They used to be good but i put a new pair on my gf's honda jazz, and they went hard/juddery within 6 months.. Has anyone tried the new Michelin blades? simonr
I bought a set of Sil-blades from MUD which initially were great and on the basis of the cost, I hoped they would last a long time! Sadly they didn't and now need replacing after about the same as cheapo blades! Halfords own brand next time! Si
AndrewHorsfield
I have just fitted 28" Michelins on my Citroen. They clear the screen well and flex well. Can't pass judgement on longevity yet.

Souster
I've just ordered an apparent trico wiper blades that turned up in an allmakes packet and country of origin is China. Can't find the brand name on the wiper itself for nothing.
Frax
Well I never looked to see if my ones were marked on the metal as Trico but can have a look in the morning

I had a set for quite a long time and never had any problems with degradation. Would buy them again. Maybe they changed something? Yostumpy
Bosch standard blades for me at the mo. Still cleaning well after a year. Mo Ditto, but I have a little trick. You know when the ends spilt,, about 1/4" long,, and then they hve to be replaced for MOT, well I cut off the flappy bit with a sharp knife, and re install them. This stops it fraying any more. then i go and buy a new pair, and store them in the truck, and swop them over at MOT time, and then sop them back after. They last at least twice as long this way, maybe more.
Souster
They are only a few quid each to buy trico ones. Hardly worth faffing about
Frax
Rained today and they worked a treat - no judders & a clean window for a change. The old Bosch ones did not feel hard but they did not wipe very well.
