qwakers
back in the day you used to see loads of smokey cars, cars where less reliable than have been in recent years, but this last couple of years ie seen them on the increase but ive never seen a late model landrover suffering... until today its a late 2008/ early 09. this is a still taken from my dashcam. if anything it looks better in the pic than in reality. at one point it filled a roundabout up like it was a thick peasoup fog...... shows what putting a transit engine in has done for the reliability... GBMUD
Not sure one smokey Landrover can be considered a reliability trend. Chris

Ed Poore
Probably a split turbo hose, that seems to be fairly common on all of Land Rovers products these days. I think also that people have become less mechanically minded so unless the car says there's something wrong they do nothing about it. Happyoldgit
There are probably some people on other forums who would see a bit of smoke like that as adding something trendy and authentic to the entire Defender experience and would be willing to pay good money to "their mechanic" fit a smoke pot to give them the desired effect. 02GF74
Yes the good old days, smell the leaded petrol, the rusty body work. Even the smell of rotten eggs when cats were first fitted has e gone.
