  1. I wouldn't have thought it would make any difference - although the length could affect its throw ... It won't be to do with the position on the splines - that would just change where you were centred. If the throw is different then just adjusting your lockstops should sort it out. I've had two with disco arms and not noticed any difference.
  2. . I wondered about that - but I expect he's trying to keep the budget under control. Leaving nothing untouched is expensive.
  3. The Td5 comes with the standard 90 175lb springs - so unless you want the ride to be different I l'd be tempted to leave them.
  4. Google will bring up a few - with lots of details and opinions about which are best. Two to start you off are Nanocom and Hawkeye
  5. I believe these things can cause starting problems ? http://www.island-4x4.co.uk/fuel-filter-bleed-valve-genuine-wkb100330-wjn500110-p-17972.html
  6. So either the springs got shorter, the shocks got longer, or the bottom retainer has gone and you've been clunking it about ?
  7. If they are the same dimensions as Gwyn's they are plus 2" in compression - if you got a +5" you will get +2 upward travel and +3" of rebound or droop. So unless you want to go the dislocation route just get +2" shocks.
  8. The pin ones seem to last better if only just nipped up rather than tightened down.
  9. Well spotted ! Are they the Terrafirma ones then ?
  10. Old one out - made a start on the one on the car, tried leaving the drum on - but. It clearly needs to come off. Rain has stopped play for today though. I'll see if I can get some time on it tomorrow.
  11. I always seem to make hard work of setting up drum hand brakes ....... Which was part of the reason I went for an x-brake on the last one.....
  12. Thanks everyone - I'll have a go tomorrow and report back.
  13. That's helpful thank you. How do you get them out ? Just lever them up from the groove ?
  14. I've just fitted a RR LT230 to my Td5 and the transducer won't fit the drive - the plastic drive is a little too big. Reading around everyone seems to say they just plug in - though I've found one thread with someone saying the same happened to them. No resolution listed for it though. Any suggestions? Do I file down the plastic drive (carefully) or can I pop the drive out and replace it?
  15. Mine was like that but when i took the contacts out the C shaped one had eroded quite a lot - I can't imagine it would have started again off of it.
  16. My blue one started just like that - and deteriorated to not starting at all. It was the solenoid - I bought a repair kit off eBay and fitted it in situ from under the truck. The copper contacts had eroded.
