On mine the clock is in the binnacle on the right hand side - I see in that bottom pic the clock is in the middle of the dash .... so what is the extra gauge?
I agree that we don't know anything about the vehicle.
I think we have to respect the police investigators though too - they are very experienced and would be able to make a good judgement over the condition of the vehicle. They said they found 30 issues that they deemed serious. I'm sure they are very experienced at differentiating what the pre accident condition was too.
There was also an independent vehicle expert from Land Rover who assessed the vehicle.
This is the defence statements.
It seems a strong argument to me - but non of us have had the full evidence laid out to us. Only the jury has had that - and only they can make judgement.
Any of us making a judgement either way can only be ill informed.
Its a frightening loss to endure as a parent and of course its the ultimate loss for those four children who've lost their futures.
The court's perspective is that it is 'there but by responsible maintenance'
10 mins is such a short time that I think I'd just wear a hat and gloves.
I have a 20 minute journey to work, which I seemed to be able to have some impact on - first I put cardboard down my grill on mine which helped - then I just took the viscous fan off - which helped a lot more. (Though the biggest improvement was a huge improvement in how cleanly it revs!)
They are sobering pictures
Just how likely is a 90 or 110 to roll over?
I've had some big slides on the recent ice and felt like I was prone to end up on my side - but wasn't sure if it was just because of the body roll and being so high up and it was a bit of an illusion?
looking at those pics, especially on a flat road is worrying.
Yellow,
How fast were you going when the blow out happened?
Mine has been narrowed down.
The wheel bearings and swivel pin bearings have no play. I've replaced the front drop arm ball joint as that did have quite a bit of play. Fresh oil in the diffs - and the noise persists.
I'm thinking bushes now. Thinking about it I've known cars with squeaks and groans that have been cause by bushes.
Any feedback on how hard they are to change on a Landy?
Any feedback on poly bushes?
Distortion is probably your speakers being driven too much.
Each speaker has specific load and so does the amp. You need to match them.
The way they are wired, ie in series or in parallel will affect the impedance.
I don't know too much about it - its to do with Ohm's law.
I'm sure you'll find stuff about it if you search the net.
Ahh yes smacsor is talking about the fan control lever. It does go through the dash and fits to a control arm on the side of the heater box.
You could release it from the control arm and see if the arm moves. If it does then you know your cable is the culprit.
It may then need resetting or simply be seized.
It never actually says in that thread (that I can see after reading it a good few times!) where the flap lever goes.
Somewhere in there is says the left hand slider connects to the side of the heater box - but that isn't correct. Its the fan slider that connects to the side of the heater box.
This one shows more, a cut away picture of the heater flaps.
I asked on there where the cable connects and its the dash end of the rod.
hope that helps!
I had a monster slide further down this road in my 90 on BFG AT's
Further along it came steeper and there was a stone wall on each side with a mixture of snow and ice.
My friends young lad was sat in with us in the middle seat. I didn't brake or turn sharply but we just suddenly started sliding. The back came round but the landy kept all its forward momentum - so we ended up continuing down the lane sideways - with the front facing a wall and us gradually getting closer to it.
I was concerned we might hit something big in the lane side on and be tipped over.
When we came to rest - and to diffuse any possible bad response from my wife - I turned to the young lad and said "how many out of 10 for that?"
He grinned like a cheshire cat and said "10!!!!!!!"
Not much you can do when all four wheels go.
You can keep the hub on to replace them then? saves replacing those nuts that you deform to grip.
Where would people buy the bearings?
Paddocks? £1.75 + vat
some very expensive ones on ebay ... £15 + postage for one!

Have you found the source of yours yet?
Mine has evolved and seems just as you describe now. A groaning, whoo-whoo, noise from the right side on left turns. Its more and more frequent so I'm thinking its something heading for a failure?
I presume it wouldn't be dependant on a left turns if it was the wheel bearing.
