  1. I thought these were good: 4 episodes, 6 mins long. This video is of them all put together.
  2. I’ve started thinking on this. I’m along the lines of solar, with a battery, and moving to electric radiators, and electric immersion heater for the water. The pay back period then is against my current electric and gas costs. The pay back calculations are very individual to any given household - and obviously I don’t know how long I’ve got left (to live!) … But the idea of breaking dependence on both gas and electric - and having that in pace for when I retire is very attractive. Even if they resolve this energy thing in the short term - it is a finite resource, and we are already seeing them move on to harder to get sources - and that will continue - more cost and energy to bring this stuff up from the ground and that will passed on to the end user.
  3. A lifetime of service and decorum. The end of an era.
  4. “oh lord won’t you buy me a Mercedes’ Benz, my friends are all driving land rovers, and I must make amends !”
  5. I didn’t realise you’d bought imperial shocks ! Makes sense for them to fit an old Land Rover though of course 😊
  6. Couple of questions: Would you use 609 for a bearing race that is a little loose? Also - I don’t seem to have much luck with the ones where you pull up to open, they seem to keep drying in the tube even with using the top. So I guess Im asking what the best type of bottle is?
  7. Apparently there will be a a shorter-wheelbase version plus a double-cab on an extended wheelbase. Though the short wheelbase may only be available as electric ?
  8. Looks like they were bought by a private equity company some years back: https://www.business-live.co.uk/economic-development/land-rover-supplier-bought-investors-3969822.amp Perhaps they are pulling the plug?
  9. Paddocks have changed their Google ad words already:
  10. lol - there are a few on here he winds up.
  11. That Britania Restorations chap has just recently posted about these a week ago - and restoring a heater box too. I think he calls them Engineers Pliers. He swore by them.
  12. What’s the free play on the pedal ? It’s possible that the clutch isn’t fully disengaging when you push the pedal down. Im not sure what it is in the puma, but I’d guess 5 - 10 mm ?
  13. I have a Milwaukee hoover … it’s good man’s so like it and use it a lot. The point about it not being as powerful as a corded hoover is well made - but for cleaning my wife’s car, getting vast quantities of dog hair out of the Land Rover, and hoovering the workshop - it works fine. If you had a really dirty carpet - it would struggle
  14. I’m sure you aren’t due to be apologising after being generous !! 😀
  15. I can’t see how increasing the airflow would make it warmer ? They are good heaters though - they just need to be in good order and set up right.
  16. That’s really nice! 88 isn’t it?
  17. That’s very kind - they are a pair of early series 2 axles, which would be really useful for the 80” The seller isn’t being very communicative though - and I wouldn’t want to expose anyone to anything that might prove difficult in anyway. Let me see how the dialogue pans out.
  18. There are a pair of axles in Wickford I’d like to buy - which they won’t run a quote from Shipley for … A 70 mile round trip is more than I’d want to ask for though.
  19. Do we have anyone near Wickford in Essex at all ?
  20. High density polyurethane- machinable plastic. You can buy blocks of it on eBay. Good stuff.
