  1. I’ve had two really honest Td5 90’s - one 2000 (x reg) and one 2001 (51 plate), and neither had the colour there.
  2. ⬆️⬆️✅😂 they actually would make an autonomously flying black hawk helicopter machined from solid with Victorian machinery.
  3. They quite often don’t seem to have stamped the colour on the vin. So no alarm bells for that.
  4. I think they might be like 3D printers - and significantly come down in cost over the next x years.
  5. That’s helpful too - I must learn CAD …. For getting things cut, machined or justifying a plasma table and a 3-d printer it seems the way ahead.
  6. I’ve been thinking of getting one of those… 🤔 Can’t decide which I’d use more - a lathe, or a mill.
  7. Looks like the 300’s are all 48 spline? https://www.web-rover.co.uk/nav.php?p=articles/steeringwheels
  8. The older ones are all 36 spline I think, later on they started to introduce 48 spline - but 36 stayed on some specs. So for example my Td5 HT had 48, whilst the Td5 CSW I have now is 36.
  9. 😂😂🤣 I love the bead roller !
  10. Could it be the vanes sticking in the turbo and then suddenly releasing? Would it be like this: Its the vanes that control the pressure isn’t it? So if they weren’t opening / sticking you’d have low power and back pressure into the fuel system - which might then suddenly release and spike ? Then once released and free moving you’d be back to normal ?
  11. Bugger 😕 But if nothing else it’s for you a new pump and ruled it out. we all know these things can get you down though.
  12. Eek - be careful. On a different note - I love those 4 spoke wheels. Lots of people swapped them out for either aftermarket or the Td5 type wheels - but I think they are lovely to use.
  13. Yes, I’d use it if it’s not been rotting away. I’d also take the opportunity to go with the Td5’s rear plastic tanks - no more rust, 55litre capacity, and more under seat storage. Im sure you don’t need a new rear crossmember too?, I think the Td5 just has the adjustable tabs for the rear body mount and other than that works fine.
  14. This is a great thread for others to follow who have the same questions - really well explained and balanced views.
  15. It was all I good do at that moment though - I put the grid in the camera and spun it with that as a makeshift reference. I will swap some wheels about and see if it rules out the wheels and tyres. I do expect it to as the noise has remained despite moving from boosts to these.
  16. 50, male, marginal, willing spirit and a body that’s dying and I’d agree to your terms … would you buy for me then please?
  17. It’s nice - I didn’t realise that they held that kind of value. Other than ‘what people are willing to pay’ how do you value these? That must be close to G Wagen prices for the same year.
