  1. Sorry if we’ve had either of these - but why do these dealers think non-standard vehicles are worth a fortune ? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/264944529974 and https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/284186363110
  2. It’s going on a S2 box this time - but I believe it fits ! I think the 80” main lever is shorter and has a different bend than 86” onwards - but is otherwise the same. The Hi low lever was straight on an 80in too, slightly bent on later vehicles. So I’ll be swapping that over.
  3. Yes - and Radford stuff it top notch. All my chassis parts came from them.
  4. Oh wow 🤩 I missed the Monday update - outstanding!! I’m sure there’s a joke in here .. 🤔 about packing a punch, and a lightweight with heavyweight axles ... 🤷🏻‍♂️ Outstanding work though.
  5. It’s one made by the Radford brothers .. 80” shape but with the rattle ring https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/land-rover-series-one-main-gear-lever-239925-/164771009394?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286
  6. I’ve bought a new S1 gearstick that’s been made with the pressed on anti-rattle ring. It looks good - and I’m interested to see how it fares.
  7. Those wheel boxes are pretty amazing. Checker plate I’m the other way on - I’ve just taken it off mine!
  8. Nice ... what’s the next steps ? I’ve lost track a little, but you must be close to having all the machining done ?
  9. Wow - there is a whole run of them. Dunsfold, Blanchards, and now FF.
  10. The slope is like a ski run ! I do like that someone has done their own thing though.
  11. Another one is the Earth for the ECU under the seat - easy to check and easily missed.
  12. It’s very doable - just fiddly I used a 1/4” socket set with a flexible joint. I also wished I had more knuckles in the my fingers ...
  13. As always with deaths - I think the best thing to pull from them is the positives from the life..... and he had many of those. Endless embrace of the duty and a huge amount of charity and work for good causes, what seemed a brilliant marriage that lasted longer than many people live in totality. He also seemed to have lived the privileged life to the full. He basically appears to have played his hands as well as anyone could have. Oh and of course - he clearly had a sense of humour and a great taste in cars. With a Land Rover those last two are perhaps essential companions ? So a life worth celebrating I would say.
  14. I’m always bowled over by generosity 😊
  15. Wow - that’s really kind thank you ! 😊
  16. I did mine both sides and couldn’t believe how easy it was - I should have done it years ago ! The Bearmach MUC 1005 is actually rubber - and isn’t a channel - but has a flat side and a curved side, so it folds to sit inside. I bought two, but then realised there is enough length in one piece for both windows..... So it’s £1.75 plus VAT - the issue is postage; 6.25 plus VAT from Bearmach direct, though you can roll other purchases up into that.
  17. How small is the camera Jeff ? I was thinking of getting one - but was thinking of as tiny a camera as possible.
  18. Yay ! An update ! Couple of questions please: What thickness is the chassis material? What did you use to put the bend in the 6mm plate? I had the devil of a job putting a neat bend in some a while back with a hammer and an edge.
  19. Here’s a good picture from the back :
  20. I like it !! the deeper sills give it a more ceremonial appearance. Love the fact he went for DBG, steel wheels, and a hi-cap pick up !
