  1. Hi Flashbasher I am based in Manchester and willing to travel depending on distance, I don't have any close ups of the bulkhead on this phone but do on my laptop so I will post some pics tomorrow
  2. Hi guys Anyone know of any good Bulkhead refurb places as we still need to either buy a decent bulkhead or find someone to do ours if it's possible, any ideas please
  3. Sorted I gave the landy a good greasing this morning before the rain started inc the rear ball joint, think I may have missed it the last time I greased the 90 up or I didn't pump enough grease in but it seems ok now
  4. Spent most of the day hunting round for some grease cartridges so will give the landy a good greasing whilst I am checking stuff which will be Monday now
  5. I spent most of the morning traveling to 6 different motorist shops to get some grease cartridges everyone except 1 didn't sell them only in tins and the last shop only had 1 cartridge in so when I next get paid or have a decent win on a scratchy I will order some off ebay
  6. I know you have a puller but what ever you do don't do what I did and try hammering it off as the box will start leaking from the seals
  7. Cheers guys I will check all the back end out on Saturday and let I no what I find
  8. Hi guys whilst I have been out and about recently I can hear and feel a knock coming from the back end I have just replaced the rear radius arm bushes as I damaged one whilst replacing them when doing the chassis swap in February this year aswell as fitting a full Bearmach poly bush kit with new BP +2" springs all round, +2" front shocks and +5" rear shocks, the noise has just suddenly happen'd in the last few weeks and thought replacing the rear radius arm bushes would cure it but hasn't, I haven't measured it but the 90 still looks like it has the same gap between the tyres and the arches but wondering if the rear springs could have slackend off and need wear pads between the rear springs and cups what do u think
  9. Ok it mite not do much damage in an axle but years ago I had a brand spanking new Perkins forklift diesel engine that had seized up so as we had these engines trucked in to replace our small fleet of VM 3 cyl engined fork lifts we was trialing 8 of these Perkins ( Prema / Premer ) engines and had a guy come to our w/shop from Perkins engines to inspect the engine and when he stripped the engine down he found the paint on the inside of the sump had all flaked off and blocked the oil ways in the engine so they replaced this engine and we had to replace all the other 7 sumps on the other 7 engines with sumps that wasn't painted inside, the new engine had a none painted sump aswell, don't know how these engines went on afterwards as I left the company a few months later but assumed they was ok so think I wouldn't bother with painting the inside of the axle they aren't at the factory anyway
  10. That's why I prefer to just walk in and buy what I need although just been into my local ( ****world ) for some EP2 grease cartridges as I couldn't see any at the recent landy show and they say they don't sell it in cartriges anymore only in tins so I think I will order a load off ebay instead
  11. Yeah it goes like stink now, didn't get the chance to try the new engine when I first fitted this due to running into the problem I had but that's the chance I took buying an unknown engine but hopefully now it should be a good'n
  12. Yeah if we have to we will fit a def diff in the rear but would rather it be right, just thinking for the next owner maybe I shouldn't but that's me
  13. Yippee its sorted now turned out the stop solenoid was loose
  14. It sounds like the slave cylinder has died but I would replace both the slave cylinder and master cylinder aswell
  15. No luck with the bulkhead either to expensive for what they was or they was already sold, there was plenty of defender / disco diffs but really wanted a RR diff which we didn't see
  16. Sorry stop solenoid he said he thinks its the FIP sucking the pin in when it gets to full throttle and shutting the pump off, I replaced the solenoid as a matter of course with a new Beamach one when I fitted the engine along with a new Bearmach lift pump which he said could be another thing to look at so i will just have see, before I took it today I was thinking like as others have said boost pin / fuel pin needs tweaking a quarter of a turn but as the FIP has dabs of paint all over it I thought I would see what he says first before I start messing with it
  17. Took the 90 back to the diesel specialist today to see what he thinks and he thinks its a weak fuel solenoid, so he has ordered a new one and I am getting it fitted tomorrow morning so I will report back then hopefully its sorted it
  18. We are going to the Peterborough show next weekend and looking at getting a better bulkhead and have that repaired instead and although the 2a has windows in the sides ( made to fit ) the 2a was originally a van so we are looking at getting some van sides aswell, oh and even a RR diff if we are lucky
  19. Made a start removing the intercooler and pipes and whilst removing the lower pipe that was working on earlier this week I found the joint that was leaking oil was really loose, I must of missed it checking them, anyway I removed the pipes and intercooler, filled the intercooler with petrol and sealed up to be left soaking over night and cleaned the pipes it with brake cleaner, the inlet manifold has some oil in it but I don't have a gasket but will get one from the Peterborough show next weekend along with a fuel filter and as I had a 25ltr drum of oil I decided to drop the oil and refilled to between the High and Low marks so tomorrow I will clean the intercooler out and refit everything and see how it goes
  20. The guard is off but there is a fresh dab of paint on the pin and nut
  21. Yeah I was thinking if there are different setting in the FIP to suit different tranny boxes and my pump wasn't set properly
  22. When you asked me about the gearing was you thinking the FIP mite not be matched to the 1:4 tranny box meaning not enough grunt for the gearing I have or too much grunt for the gearing I have, you have just got me thinking that's all
