  1. It was a bit tongue in cheek I'll have to see what I can knock up on the lathe. I'm gonna have to make up some kind of spacer too...
  2. The engine will probably never go into anything else, so I'll get busy with a hacksaw Cheers, I thought about sending you a private message to ask about this but figured I'd just post and hope somone noticed!
  3. Hi, I have a 3.9 from an Auto RRC and a conversion kit to mate Rover V8 to Series box. This contained an adaptor ring, engine mounts, flywheel drilled for series clutch and what I assume is the spiggot bush. My question is, how on earth do these go together? I trial fitted everything but there was a difference in depth from the face of the flywheel to the face of the adaptor plate when comparing the old 2.25 diesel and the trial fitted series V8. I took some photos of the items I have below, but I think I'm missing a spacer? Any help would be very much apprieciated
  4. looking at his feedback he managed to sell the same shogun twice for different cost but with the same description 7 days apart. My guess would be one was his mate bidding and managed to over bid.

    Quiet init ?

Must have used a good amount of rustproofer then
  6. 10 spline Range Rover / Defender / Discovery. I used to run a pair from a 90 in my SWB series but that was a Essex V6. Planning on fitting a pair to the SIII I'm building at the moment too, I have a Range Rover I'm breaking up for parts. Although, as FridgeFreezer mentioned, possibly not such a plan with the old 2.25 Diesel engine. I also forgot that a Series LWB may well have a salisbury rear axle.
  7. If you're just looking to increase your final drive then diffs out of a later axle are cheaper than an overdrive unit. Ashcroft also used to do a set of transfer box gears that provided a different high-ratio.
  8. Somone once said "the Discovery is the thinking mans Defender" I'm sure I've seen it as somones quote on here too... Having driven a fair few Discoverys, Range Rovers and Defenders I can safely say for every day use I prefer the Discovery.
  9. I had paddocks version of performance discs fitted on my RRC, they were pretty damned good.
  10. This is quite interesting as I'm doing all this for the first time. Some really nice work gone into both of those landies. Using the standard series box for the time being though. Hadn't considered using power steering, is that very involved moddification?
  11. I'm currently building a SWB Series V8. Hoping to have the chassis painted and ready to build this week so I can fit the engine/Gbox and start to modify the bulkhead. I'll let you know how I get on
  12. I fitted a set of Pioneers in the original place at the front, just about managed to squeeze them in. In the rear I fitted a pair of Boston Acoustic speakers, a 10" open boxed Sony sub and Alpine amp. This sounds pretty good but could be better. I'd be interested if you do make up some door pods, I very rarely use my front door pockets anyway!
  13. I'd take the brooklands kit off and sell it if you're going to chop up the arches, seems a waste of a good kit that could be sold for a tidy profit
  14. Clean up chassis and inner wings then waxoyle/rust protect them inside and out. Stainless exhaust. So many others but without knowing the condisiton of the it currently and what foibles it has it's hard to say
  15. for a 1967 it would have had the headlamps in the centre rather than the wings. Bulkhead looks right for 1967 era, bonnet hinges and windscreen mounts. Bonnet looks SIII though. That looks like a nato hitch on the right of the bumper but i'm sure somone can point out what it really is As far as I know military would not have used a ball tow bar.
  16. So, at my current rate of posting, that'll be Xmas 2020 when I re-gain access I refuse to stoop to pointless posting though (this post not included).
  17. Given the current topic of discussion, thought you guys might be interested in this. http://reprap.org/bin/view/Main/WebHome A mate was building one but has stopped for the moment :/
  18. Never had a problem and been a customer for about 7 years or so, plenty of rebuilds in that time. I do all of my buying over the counter though as they're only up the road.
  19. I assume that's an aircon pump modded into a compressor for tyres etc, how easy was that and how effective is it?
  20. I hadn't noticed it was gone till you mentioned that, now I miss it
  21. My 98 300 manual V8 has factory fitted Cruise, the fact it doesn't seem to work properly is a whole different ball game, really should try and fix that sometime soon.
  22. I have been asked to make an offer on a 200tdi Land Rover 110 hi-cap. It's not road legal, has poor wheels/tyres, cracked chassis and every body panel seems to be bent. I realise it's not worth a great deal but any ideas what it might be worth? Assuming the engine is ok I was planning on offering around £100. It's currently being used as a quarry/plant hack. Any comments/thoughts welcome
  23. Easy start is like crack for diesels, once you start them on it it's hard to get them off! Well, that's based on the trucks we ran underground
