  1. I hate reading threads like this Wish somone would really start to do something about this scum. Also worth mentioning to keep an eye on ebay aswell as "for sale" sections, you never know!
  2. Normally when you foor it most of your diff attempts an escape out the back of your axle case I like that camera a lot, some nice footage. I bet it'd make quite a good remote monitor device when parked on the drive, start recording when it detects motion inside the car. How long do the batteries last?
  3. I feel for you, I'd love a dog too but i'm sometimes away for a few days. I'm getting a bit worried about leaving my soft top Series 3 about when it's finished but have a few choice methods up my sleeve, chaining it to the ground being one
  4. what are the names of the files? Try some anti-spyware type tool rather than a dedicated AV, there could be various reasons as to why Norton doesn't pick it up and why the M$ tool doesn't fully remove it, assuming it is picking up a true threat and not a false alarm On a side note I really don't like Norton oops, should have noticed the screen shot!
  5. IE or Firefox on WindowsXP? Does it always jump or just certain sites? Might be an idea to try a virus/spyware scan as a first port of call. Unless you're using a laptop and you're knocking the nipple/touchpad
  6. I don't know if they are the same unit, the best thing I could suggest is to strip the dash and have a look. I reparied the spider on my V8 Disco and it's been as good as gold since then.
  7. What has been seen cannot be unseen. Probably one of the worst cars to appear on BB's
  8. Cheers for the replies, I'm going to throw on a pair of SU's for the moment I think, see if that solves the problem. If it does then I can MOT it and consider my options once I can drive it far enough to get out of second gear. I have considered MS and will likely give it a try once I've driven about a bit. If the SU's don't change anything then I guess I'll be taking the engine back out
  9. It's when dabbing the pedal, in comparison to my 3.9 disco it's a world of difference. I should add I've replaced the dizzy too.
  10. I have a 1991 3.9 V8 fitted into a Series 3, the engine currently has fitted a hotwire injection system. The engine is timed to TDC, new spark plugs and gives a good spark. It has the standard range rover in tank pump. The engine starts and runs up to temprature but present the two very strange problems. Firstly the engine has a flat spot at just above tickover, if you push the throttle it's like the management system takes a little time to respond and it will splutter, do this enough times in quick sucession and the engine will stop. Second issue, if the engine is turned off from the key it will start without issue. If the engine stalls or is otherwise stopped without using the key it will not start. There is a good spark during this period. The following has been replaced; ECU Engine coolant sensor Fuel thermistor AFM Throttle Pot The idle air valve has been removed, cleaned and refitted. If removed you can see it moving out and back in again. The battery presents around 14v when running. I'm currently preparing a pair of SU's and a manifold to fit as I've run out of ideas with the EFI. Any suggestions welcomed please!
  11. Fitted a ford essex to a IIA many years ago now, we moved the engine mounts which annoyed me at the time as I had just purchased and fitted a galvenised chassis.
  12. My mother works in the school next to the field, if it's the one I'm thinking of! I used to have a good luck on my past when I worked in Middleton.
  13. The other major issue with the HID light is the beam pattern, HID bulbs produce light in a different location and the beam pattern produced as a result from this is fairly annoying to oncoming traffic and not very focused on the road. check out; http://www.danielsternlighting.com/tech/bu...onversions.html which I'm sure has been mentioned here before.
  14. Also worth noting but probably not relatd to this current fault, you want a short as possible earth rather than going back to the battery.
  15. Cheers for the replies My problem lies in the fact that I'm not using the series tank. I'm going to try and fit the RRC pump this weekend rather than splash a fortune on other methods so we shall see!
  16. I've been drawing a blank here really, I tried the search function but didn't find what I was looking for. I don't really want to use the internal EFI Rangey pump on my series but I'm not sure what to replace it with. Has anyone done this and what was the outcome?
  17. Air Con, in a series Deff update the buildthread soon
  18. I'd be carefull you don't remove too much, the shaft has a fair bit of meat in the threaded section. I found I haven't needed to remove anything from the front of my RRC water pump so far, although I did try and it's incredibly hard.
  19. I've thought about doing this in the past and have decided against it several times for various reasons. Personaly I would be more inclined to either custom build a mini-itx based PC or harvest a laptop rather than use a pre-built SFF solution. A custom built solution can be designed with lower power overheads and be slighlty more robust from the outset. There are PSU's out there that will monitor supply and switch off the PC when a certain threshold is breached to avoid a flat battery, these will also auto start up and shutdown the PC. Heat may become an issue in the summer months, as will cold in the winter. HDD's designed for laptops will be slighlty more robust and it's also worth looking at booting from CF. Have you done any tests with the 3 USB 3G solution? you might find that trying to stream internet radio whilst travelling at 70mph up the motorway is intermittent, heavy buffering might solve that though. Just the thoughts I had when I considered implementing this myself
  20. What about some moddification of the Range Rover brake pumps fitted to the later classics? Just an idea.
  21. Somone else from Derby! Hello As others have said, phone around and beware the postcode lottery! I insured my first land rover at 17, a 2.25 Series 3, but that was 10 years ago and in Northumberland. Which part of Derby are you from?
  22. Yep, I have a serpentine in my discovery without aircon
  23. I made a bar to remove my bulkhead, it was effictivley a job of bolt in bar, cut out bulkhead.
