The number of videos of people in cars and vans hitting floodwater at speed with the resulting engine deaths and floating bewilderment that the FB algorithms insist on showing me is scary. People seem utterly clueless in most cases. People videoing these events and sticking them on social media seems to be a ‘thing’ now.

Naproxen is potentially bad for the stomach and is usually prescribed along with another drug [whose name escapes me at present] to protect the gut. I was prescribed codeine for years but it started to give me blinding headaches and impact my digestive system too - as does morphine. I was prescribed another, much stronger and more addictive painkiller while in hospital and maintain that on standby for bad days.

Time for a feet up and coffee moment after entering ‘rustproofing’ and similar into the search box. Browsing some of the related stuff from the early days on here and earlier threads in other places brings back many long forgotten nightmares memories 🫣 🤣

That has been my experience using dehumidifiers too.

I had a couple of 5Lt containers of Bilt Hamber stuff left over from various projects and used the Dynax UC and Dynax S50 on the D Max when it was new mid 2021. So far so good. I think I still have some left and will probably use it up on the inner wings and chassis of the '43 Willys.

Thoughts and Musings on the Ineos Grenadier
Happyoldgit replied to Bowie69's topic in The New Ineos Grenadier
A most excellent review as is usually the case with Harry. I had a mooch around a black Quartermaster on Bussey's the local Ineos dealership stand at the Sandringham game & Country Show last weekend as well and even got my wife to try the driver's seat of a station wagon as well. She did not reach for her chequebook. -
Owatrol Oil - anyone have any experience using it? I’ve seen it mentioned on a classic tractor page somewhere that it’s good for long term protection for tin work and results in a long term oily rag look.

Trail/wildlife cams or security cameras

Best way for casual use. If it doesn't capture anything, goes missing or gets trashed you haven't lost a lot of coin. -
Trail/wildlife cams or security cameras
Happyoldgit replied to steve b's topic in International Forum
I use cheapo trail cams that accept SD cards for placing in and around our land that will record both still and video images 24/7 [plus sound if required] and use them for keeping an eye on furry & feathered vermin / game etc. We have a number of wired CCTV cameras on the exterior of the property and yard that feed into secure DVR's here and there. The pukka trail cams are a handy bit of kit. These are screen caps from videos... -
I was with NFU for motor insurance for years, and still have machinery & property with them, but shifted to LV 10+ years ago. While they lack the personal interaction you get with NFU local agents LV have been very good.

Thoughts and Musings on the Ineos Grenadier

Watching Harry’s Farm on the tube I see he has a Grenadier pickup on loan for the harvest period. He says he plans to do a Harry’s Garage video on it soon. -

I caught a glimpse of a highly polished black one outside the local dealers last week. -
Aston Martin DB 1490
Happyoldgit replied to L19MUD's topic in Modified Vehicle Builds & Special Projects
Following with interest. Nice to see progress on the old girl! I have a 1490 hydro with a front loader that has stood unused outside [exhaust covered] for the last 3-4 years. When I was taken seriously ill I repeatedly asked the family to occasionally start and use the 1490 - but for reasons unknown I guess they were somewhat more interested in my terminal diagnosis and when they would needed to order a wooden box with brass handles for moi. In the end the tractor lay idle, clutch slave leaked, all the fluid was lost and despite having a new master, reservoir and slave here and the dash out to replace the thing has not had the attention it deserves and rests in a bed of nettles. -

Probably not, bit of black magic back in the day. -

Is it a hydro or manual box? I've got a 2WD hydro with loader that has not been used for three years sat outside here. -
Local general auctions and farm sales are sometimes a good source for decent storage and benches but of course you never know from one week to the next what is going to turn up. Having used kitchen units in the past one observation I'll make is that the faced chipboard stuff can be susceptible to absorbing damp. I need two pairs of workshop / garage double doors to replace some side opening wooden ones here that are past their best. I had a couple of site visits and quotes for roller shutter jobs back in 2020 but a national and then personal medical event meant they were put on hold. I should not have waited as prices have increased significantly. I've recently had quotes for two pairs of side hung openers in steel, a snip at 4-6k 🙄🤢

Not unusual for someone to register to ask a question in the expectation to receive an immediate response or to post the same question on a number of platforms.

My memory might be playing tricks but I'm sure something like this has been discussed here in the past. Try a forum search using various keywords @Junglie

Thoughts and musings on the new defender
Happyoldgit replied to Jamie_grieve's topic in New Defender Forum (2020 onwards)
The price of Grenadiers appears to be continuing a downward trend, at least in this part of the world.
